The distance between house and road is pretty small. I'll bet the traffic noise would get on your goat when its busy.
Being on a corner like that, has he been hit before?

me mate's had the wall between him and his garage rebuilt 3 or 4 times courtesy of insurers and has had a few on their sides up against the front of his house .... never had anything in through the window/wall though.
He is gonna be gutted if the truck had his ********* .... usually sat where the trucks N/S/F wing is ... concrete sectional 4 bay garage we built from the components from two singles we collected from Cardiff many years ago on me lorry, one weekend ... is a really nice space and he loves his garage/workshop

I'd say this time he's gonna be out of there for a bit that's a demo job..if insurance get big lads on it
yeh that's in a state ..... Steve lives at the other end of the row (where the truck came to rest - in his garage BTLs) ... the demo job belongs to his friend who lives in london and Steve care takes it for him in the week ... bet it was an interesting phone call.
let's hope yon truck was properly insured ... little outfit from up the valleys, I understand, hauling into Pontrilas mill

One of the posts on Facebook was a comment from drivers family member saying brakes had failed on wagon

Interesting collision/incident. So what was the cause?
Looks like the white van may have stopped beside the road to make a delivery perhaps?
Side-swipped by the wagon as he came too fast into the narrow bends with double white line system.
Wagon brakes hard and the insecure load on the flat bed trailer came off

It looks like the truck had been on its side and hit the corner of the house too have that much damage on the top of the cab, but not so much on the grill below 😲. Maybe the impact righted it again and that`s where its come to rest ?

This photo, seems to show the pins off the trailer, uniformly placed as if the trailer was on its side, rather than snapped off?

Nasty! Horrible sensation , had it once in a mini that was bad enough...😳
aye ..... had the brakes give out on me Demag 30 tonner once going down into a nasty hollow.... but with an equally steep grade coming out the other side ... was a pretty hairy couple of minutes

pretty sure the van is usually parked in their parking area, where it's sat Dave .... the house is empty most the time ... weekend Londoners ...
see the truck deffo ended up in Steve's garage .. he'll be mega PO-ed, if his ****** was in its usual spot
I'd guess the cab damage'd be caused by the N/S wheel dropping into the 2+ft drop in front of the house and presenting the upper structure of the cab to the wall first.
Excessive speed'd be my best guess ..... those bends come up mighty quick after some decent straights and long right hander tightening into the narrows and those couple of bends ..... it's a fave spot for it .. get a few a year there, just happens this is a BIG un

looks like the bolsters did the score down the side of the van and the truck could well have been up on it's N/S wheels, battling to make it around the corner, when the front axle dropped into the 'pit' in front of the house .... think the visible bolsters are from the O/side, as the N/S ones'd be under the timber

Yep that would make sense 👍🏻
Wonder what caused it to go over onto its side 😬

have just been told that Tony, the weekender sold it a while ago and it's now lived in full time ... the owner's wife was in the kitchen out the back at the time .. luckily.
also told the MAIN A465 will be closed for at least a week :oops::oops::oops:
our top road'll be bloody chaos .... hope they put a weight limit on it, 'cos meeting trucks along there is a nightmare ... bad enough meeting 8ft wide cars (least they think they're 8ft wide):mad: ...
been along a few miles of it this morning, to Reo's place to pick him up to go see Russ, me crane man and thought it was bloody busy for nine o'clock on a Sunday morning :unsure:o_O ...
Russ has a good 6 month's work for the 'stone wizard' .....

not been down to Russ's new place before, since he's moved there .... and I have seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerious shed envy .....
bought what can best be described as an industrial building/commercial garage and yard, with a house and a cottage attached ... Druid heaven ... full commercial pit ... Russ is 6ft 6" and has to use a hop up under his crane in the pit ....
even got an 'alcove' in the one side of the pit wall for a major tool box/bench. Plus a 2t gantry to top it all off aaaaand 3 ph :sick: .... talk about coming up smelling of Chanel #5:rolleyes::giggle:
