Coming back on A59 boxing day night late on or even early the next morning not sure which.....😖
Anyway big barn owl comes out of nowhere blam into screen....slowed as fast as I could to try and see if ok. Pretty gutted as it looked a big beast . But kids all asleep so didn't want to risk ww3 waking em. 😔 absolutely crapped me up...😳

All this talk of hitting wildlife makes me nervous... I once hit a barn owl on the motorbike, hit me bottom of helmet / chest, really made me groan, thankfully instinct took over and i held on.

A59 that brings back memories.

Bad enough getting a fly in your eye on the MTB going through the woods yet alone a bloody big owl!!

1984 - running the coast road into Narbonne Plage, Sud de France on the Z thou ... dawdling along of an evening doing 40-ish heading back to the campsite - 32-ish C, Tee shirt - jacket wide open ... hit dead centre of the sternum, by a 6" preying mantis (yeh the ba**ards fly) ..... thought I'd been shot .... thank God I wasn't doing my usual 70-80 ... would've lost it for sure .

ten years earlier .. DT175 Yammy, riding along one summer's day in UK, off road ... felt summat hit me in the neck -- by the time I'd stopped, this ****in' wasp'd stung me three times in the left nipple :oops::(:cry:o_O ... it didn't get a chance at a fourth one :mad:
