So, some of you will remember I had a deposit down on a 2009 iveco. Well too many broken promises from him as resulted in a last minute purchase of this wee beauty today.

1999 Volvo FLC. 110k kms. Full years test. Didn’t seem bad value for £3500. She’s a better lorry than the Iveco and I prefer having a manual box. Credit to previous owner. Mans wee boy had left lights on so had to jumpstart her, that’s why battery cover is off. Started first turn of the key 👌🏻 Minimal electrics and no ad blue, should go forever

tidy .... tip hinge is a long way forward from the tail end though ... is it a stretched unit ?

That is f****ng mint. Proper bargain that!

Be aware those Volvo's are starting to get a bit iffy for parts. cracking little lorries though..

Cheers lads, well pleased with it. Glad to hear I’ve made the right decision.

@JD450A what would the main bits be that are hard to get? Would start and gather spares up now just in case they are needed.

Is it an Perkins 1004 engine in these?

I’m sure it’s a Volvo engine 🤔 never seen a Volvo truck with another brand of engine in👍

Just general parts..... Volvo like to charge ££££'s on the smaller older end. Part of the reason my lovely 15t lorry is mothballed. (although she might make a comeback as a tipper)

If you've space, find a MOT failure wagon with good running gear.... the little 7.5t's where unusual tho.

That is a f****ng gem..... Unusually I'm very jealous as at £3500 if I had a shed for it to live in I'd have that as a modern classic!

Another word of Advice.... those Lucas Tacho Heads are Obsolete. I would strongly advise you run Tacho Exempt so you don't have to open it as the wires break on the hinge :( Part of the reasons I upgraded the Merc (and Immediately regretted doing so) Legally being a 7.5t using the lorry for your own building works you can run tacho exempt on a logbook system! I will see if I've still got a spare head and If so I'll send it over!

Nice looking truck. Why are the Volvo 7.5 tonne so cheap do they have a high tare weight?

doubt you'd get more than 3t on that .... bet it's close to 4.5 tare ... lovely 7.5 truck though for that little money (y)

When you say a log book system what do you mean? Record when and where I drive?

I see it had a re conditioned tacho fitted
