Tricky one rear covers, I've had them all, but think next time I'll go back to proper rear truckman style as if it won't go in the back it goes on ifor.
Bingo can't be arsed with pansy tyre guys. I only use one bloke who does loads of off-road and AG tyres. He knows what will go on and what won't...best profile etc ..usually not what your supposed to use but what actually works.

I was surprised by these guys tbh - they were good as gold when they put them on the Navara (they did rub on that on full lock, but I wasn’t bothered). As soon as I turned up today they were telling me this size would wreck my diff and gearbox… They couldn’t explain how though!!!

Eh? My grabber X3s on last Amarok required some creative blowtorch work on the arches and still rubbed like heck but diff and gearbox were fine Speedo subtly out tho

The problem with the truckman canopies is you have to climb in the back all the time to get stuff. I really want an n and j cannopy but it would cost twice what the trucks worth. Or the mocho fabrications one with the full size back door but using the existing tailgate but it lifts up
Plus gullwings so can get stuff out the side

Yeah if I sort out a newer truck I will eventually sort a canopy as everything is rolling around the back seats ATM

They look a decent canopy, I’ve always been put off canopy’s due to back only access, the roller on mine is abit of a pain, insecure and can’t get much under it.

I was considering putting a canopy on this but haven’t decided which yet (as they all look crap IMO).
I ordered nothing on the back - the dealer had a mix-up somehow and my truck came with a silver roller-shutter and that chrome crap from the factory. The ridiculousness of it is those are both available in black for the same price - whoever spec’d it silver and chrome needs a kick in the balls and a poke in the eye!
Long and short is that I haven’t been charged for either - I’ll take the bar off tomorrow and probably get it powder coated black, and live with the silver mountain top for now.
Tyres were as-new off my old Navara. I wasn’t sure if they’d fit as are 285/60 r18 (standard are 265/60 r18). I took them to the BF Goodrich supplier who I bought them off originally - he made a phone call to BFG and refused to even try to fit them as was told by an ‘expert’ that they’d only go on with a 2 inch lift (which I have no interest in doing).
Another tyre fitter chucked one on a rim, we gave it a good looking at lock-to-lock and they fit with no rubbing whatsoever. Drives great with them on, ever so slightly more road noise but handles fine.

Got a courtesy ranger at the moment with roller shutter , was debating putting the shutter back on mine but this one leaks like a sieve.
When you take the roller shutter off just go full hammer with sealant.

Pegasus canopies are ok but build quality is poor and spares are very expensive, handles are something like 140 each and don't fit great as the sections they fit to have slight curve Vs the flat bottom of the handle. Another issue is the design of the handle they need careful setup, if there isn't enough slack in the operating rods the small amount of flex in the handle will pull the rods just enough to be able to do a sharp tug and just open the locked door clean open

Don’t get a truckman canopy, had one from new on my Dmax and had various problems that never got sorted on it

Pickups are wank as a van imo, unfortunately there aint much choice of 4wd vans that can tow 3.5 ton. Whatever you do for any cover, top, canopy or whatever on the back of a pickup they don't suit our climate.

Tbf my rear drive transit is pretty good apart from when you pull off have to rev it to much due to the turbo

The ‘Toyota’ factory fitted roller shutter (which I fortunately neither ordered nor paid for) on my brand new 2 day old 200 mile Hilux firstly wouldn’t unlock this evening (the key wouldn’t go into the lock at all at first, and took 5 mins of fannying around to finally get it to turn the lock - it is frosty here tonight but this is the UK!) subsequently won’t even stay shut at the digs tonight. The mechanism is totally frozen solid, it won’t latch closed (never mind locked) Total joke, I’m really amazed at how crap roller shutters actually are.

I have this setup from Hardtops UK. Very nice hardtop, fits perfectly. It just clamps on, so I was able to remove it from my last ranger and put it on my new one without leaving any damage.
The security boxes make it extra secure. In hindsight I wouldn't have bothered with the slide tray as the boxes raise stuff up enough that I can reach it from outside without sliding the tray out.
There wasn't the option of central locking integration when I bought mine, but speaking to someone who has it he says it is worth every penny. No worry about have you gone round and locked all three locks every time you close it and although he didn't mention it obviously no problems with ice or muck in the key holes.

I’m just looking into this now.. pick-up(Hilux) Defender 90, or a 4wd van, but they all obviously need to tow 3500kg! List price of a 4wd transit is £60k!!!!
