Depends on how you move the digger. That’s why I said towing is main business , moving digger to site is not hence not needed. Every tree chopper dragging a chipper would need one otherwise. Stay below 7.5 and have an old driving licence is the crack.
Depends on how you move the digger.
Move digger to site - Drop off for your labourer to use - Drive home - Tacho
Move digger to site - Stay on site to use machine - Drive Home - No Tacho
Very specific. Not about the towing being the main business. More about what the drivers role is and whether driving the road going vehicle is there main occupation or not. Just been looking through this for the past month to confirm that I can work the way I intend to without a Drivers CPC.... Head is fried from it but that's the situation, better to tell everyone that than have people thinking they are covered when they aren't.
Fred, just for clarity, it is Sunday and I might have had a beer, but I am reading what you are saying is that the driver is driving all day. Now this might be my confusion, but the driver of the vehicle HAS to be the driver of the digger, not the labourer as pointed out by Rory.not quite
Unless the chap who is dropping the labourer off does nothing but drive the truck then he is exempt as driving is incidental to the job. Would be exactly same if you let the labourer drive. He is a labourer not a driver.
only changed if you are dropping off the digger as someone has hired it off you.
heck even the volumetric Conc wagons have only just gone restricted O licence , they got away with it for years.

Wouldn't the 7.5t van be over this ruling as the 7.5t will be 11t gtw for maximum permissable mass.
No as your maximum permissible mass is based on the combination your driving at the time. So a 4x2 7.5t vehicle is exactly that until you hook a 3.5t drag up then it becomes 11t... Otherwise you would'nt be able to take a 7.5t lorry down a 7.5t restricted limit road would you.Wouldn't the 7.5t van be over this ruling as the 7.5t will be 11t gtw for maximum permissable mass.

Volumetrics for around it as they are mobile plant rather than a vehicle
when I looked at it the restricted O license checks would be every 3 months based on us doing next to no mileage going to site and back.
would use the 100km of base not a haulier tacho exemption.
Assumed anything over 3.5t is classed as 7.5t hence being able to do a 7.5t driving test in a 4t vanIt’s not a 7.5 tonner different vehicle class at 7.2
As long materials for the driver's own use and driving is not their main job and with 100km radius, tacho exemptForgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't that exemption exclude you from using the vehicle to collect materials from a 3rd party ??
I don't think there is a 7.5 ton test anymore. Is it not just C then C+E ?Assumed anything over 3.5t is classed as 7.5t hence being able to do a 7.5t driving test in a 4t van

Think it's c1 upto 7.5 then cI don't think there is a 7.5 ton test anymore. Is it not just C then C+E ?
C1 and C1+E is the 7.5t class test.I don't think there is a 7.5 ton test anymore. Is it not just C then C+E ?
You can collect whatever materials required provided your using them or have created the waste or product. But I didn't you could go round collecting the materials I thought it was literally yard to site with tools and materials rather than via builders merchants
I don't think that is correct, it's based on vehicle weight so once you cross 3.5t mam it's c1Just to further muddy the water I gave c1 snd c1e and have only ever done car test.
They are not needed though for a daily 7.2 as long as your train weight is not more than 7 tons so you could technically be pulled if you had say 2 tons on the daily and a max weight trailer as well.
