hammerite it black/white whatever gores with the windows/doors. You should only ever see a fraction the leading edge anyway.

Hammerite doesn't key well to galvy Fred
..... or anything else, other than a rusty, dust /dirt free metal surface ... or a previous Hammerite coat that's had a week or two to cure properly ..... great paint, used to the letter

never had problem with it on glav, had to re-touch underside of tipper body where some welding burnt it off and its still good 2 years on, in fact better than the some of the body.. but thats another rant!

...... young fella we did a few bits for ..... he's the lad who machined my stepped bushes for me a while ago had been building this in a rented unit somewhere and he was struggling for headroom .... (a) to work on it and (b) to get the damned thing out the door ..... so he cut the roof off it.
could we please weld it back on for him, as his welding skills weren't up to the task .....
so went and picked it up .... with the roof in the back and re-fitted the same

I once made a coffin liner out of galv. 2.5mm sheet, then after the service, the local undertaker brought the corpse down to us, put it in the coffin liner, fitted the lid and he got welded into it, before being placed back into his casket for a flight to Germany ..... customs insisted on a sealed zinc casket for import
.... only ever done one o' them ..... I actually knew the old fella in the box .... had been a neighbour for many years.

I am a big fan of canals having owned two narrowboats and two cruisers in my time. Sadly not long enough to enjoy. My Nan and grandad lived on a boat until I was 16 and I had a fairly unsteady childhood so spent a long time on theirs from a very young age. I would love another and will in the future I hope just waiting for my kids to grow up a bit. Sitting in the cut in the arse end of nowhere is my idea of bliss if I’m honest. Rain sun or snow. And with technology nowadays you can’t get to bored even if your a youngster. Better picking blackberrys and making pies or learning about what you see than the internet. Manual work like working locks, bliss.

I did ask him why he didn't stick some std wheels on it ..... couldn't be arsed apparently, having wrestled those buggers onto it
and he's far from dull yeh was a bit niffy ..... he'd been embalmed and was guaranteed for 25 years
..... now't in the guarantee about fire damage though

Mate of mine is a gravedigger and I’ve helped him a few times to exhume bodies. Fresh is fine and old is fine. It’s the 2 year old ones where the coffin has started to fall apart and the body comes out in slimy pieces that turn my stomach

Friend of mine ended up buying a couple of coffins that had been used to transport body's on airplanes they had lead liners in them that were lead welded at the seams
He sold the lead for scrap and a couple of goths bought the wooden coffins
