Found some of these photos of when my grandpa ran the business in 1992,
He ran Hymac 580c, Jcb 814, 820 and liebherr 942 with Two piece boom, ran 22 trucks at his peak just before the BCCI banking disaster and unfortunately had to pay off 90% of his workers

Doosan that kept throwing the track and setting up pressures on Terex duck after someone was messing around with it

Did you ever get a truck sorted out for yourself?

Not yet, been and saw a couple of 7.5t but for the price of them I’m now swaying for a larger truck, standard O license and get it out on hire when we don’t need it?
Still just pondering ideas etc, but I’m swaying towards 8 wheeler, hiab, cheese wedge body and rear lift / rear steer axles.
Just trying to weigh my options up

That’s the thing, when you look into it you add up what’s most useful and an 8wheeler,crane,cheese wedge ticks all the boxes but it’s a big asset to buy let alone run.
