That article mentions turnover based fines. They make a mockery of justice as another operator making the same mistake does not face the same fate. Very similar to the biased prison sentence rules that have recently been blocked after an uproar.
I have read that are appealing the fine. Will be interesting to see what comes of it. Lynch are claiming the load was legal but the paperwork was void as they had put another registration number in, hence only clerical error.
but a small fine would hardly be punitive - might even be considered as running costs of taking a risk :rolleyes:

are the pix being bandied about of the actual vehicle/load, that the fine relates to or another 'incident'?
but was it a " clerical error " or just taking a chance and swallowing a small fine if caught??

The photos aren't of the load in question.

The police could and should be making the public aware that they have been stopped multiple times.... I quite fancy putting a freedom of information request in.
