Unless they have a cross line relief in the pump in case of a lock up, but it sounds like the oil is going through the hydrostatic and back around to turn the other wheel in an opposite direction, ( so turning the pump but with engine stopped!! If there is a cross line relief then this could be at fault.
hadn't considered the possibility (or need) for a CLRV ... but yeh would make sense in case of a sudden halt and if faulty'd be redirecting oil across the lines

When we moved the dumper we found it was easier to push when it was in gear and yes the pipes are split by a tee to the motor thanks fishy

It’s what I do!
So with it in gear( f/r) it’s easier to push! So the Hydrostatic pump is working but the drive is broken to the swash plate, the shaft through the middle is still driving the other Pumps! Now if it did have a cross line relief in series with the pump and motors, putting it in f/r wouldn’t make any difference when pushing it!
