Today's not a Grenadier- my new 90 project.
Solid chassis, rebuild front axle, new rear a frame, everything there (or in the shed next to it). Collecting it on Saturday 😃 it'll be getting a heart transplant from my d2, a rebuild and probably a soft top...
That's my 3 car garage well sorted- crafter dropside for work, d4 commercial van/tow truck/posh car/camping wagon and a classic to tinker with for a few years 😀 😄 👌

An email off INEOS this morning,

Hi Craig,

Introducing Grenadier Commercial. With a flat floor and a full-height cargo barrier behind the front seats, you’ll have over 2,000 litres of loadspace, and be able to carry a standard Euro pallet.

Aimed at businesses that need a capable 4X4, it boasts the same great capability and specification as the original 2-seater Utility Wagon it replaces. But with specific changes that mean HMRC has confirmed you’ll be able to reclaim VAT.

They just need a SWB version, at the right price and they may be on to something

You just beat me to it!!
At £50k plus VAT it starts to look like it might make some sense!!
I wonder how much the rear seats will be???

Just had same...after some digging it's only a vat reclaim confirmation from HMRC still not a true commercial from sake of BIK as still not 1t payload.
Also confirms rear seat mounts are rendered unusable.
But a step forward nonetheless less
Also Some new cryptic note about vehicles modified by EDC still having a 3 year warranty.

Is the 1 ton payload only for crew cabs, 4/5 seats, double cabs. A true van is a van regardless of capacity.
I`m thinking fiesta, citroen and others don't carry a ton, but still comply with BIK.

I think it's an actual definition of DPV by HMRC.

Bit of digging,

Other vehicles

The 1 tonne rule only applies to double cab pickups, not to any other vehicle.

Other specific types of vehicle are dealt with at EIM23155.

and
"changes such as permanent removal of the rear seats and all associated fittings"

A vehicle will not automatically satisfy this test simply because it has only one row of seats. There are certain sports cars and leisure vehicles that can only seat a driver and one passenger, but that are quite clearly not primarily suited for carrying goods or burden.

"A vehicle will not automatically fail this test if it has two rows of seats. There are certain vehicles that have a large/high load area that significantly exceeds the passenger and multi-purpose areas, and are primarily suited for carrying goods or burden."

I would like to think they`ve sorted it second time around :ROFLMAO:

Some reasonably priced ones about

Am I the only person who still thinks reasonably priced is 5grand. My first truck had 30k on it 7.years old and 3 grand.
I still look at a 60 plate and think it's basically brand new. Maybe I have very low expectations.
I think I've decided I want a willis jeep as my daily driver. Problem is they are stupid money.

No, exactly same here.

Someone says I've a 61 reg and instantly I think it's not old...bloody is tho. Mind still a 61 reg would be more reliable than a 71 reg I'm sure.

My newst truck is a 70 plate, 2nd oldest is a 66 plate and 3rd oldest is a 61 plate. N the vehicle that earns me the most is a 54 plate.

My 70 plate dose 13mpg less than the 2000 w reg it replaced....but it's good for the clean air bollocks

Hilux seem to have released the 2.8l engine and auto box in there active range even as a king cab. Isuzu do auto and cruise control on the utility spec. I think that is the closest I can see to value anytime soon.
Anything I actually want is now very long in the tooth.
