That's interesting Nick as the manual hitch I'm replacing for the second time is the Harford prolok. Maybe the hydraulic version is better
I find they're pot luck the manual l
Prolocks. The small one in the 216 seems to hold tight fine- the knee one on the 2.8t is useless- always working loose. I wouldnt have one again tbh

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Damn, I was thinking if you meant four pipe then just divert the slew! That’s a bit s**t on Volvos part.

Not being funny but how old is the Volvo? is it time to think about changing the whole machine to a better secondhand unit that you can fully utilise with the tilty? I always thought I’d hardly use mine under the 1.9t but that’s just not the case.

Alternatively I’m pretty sure @CPS could also provide some wizardry (boom mounted cetops maybe) that could give you what you need? He’s priced similar for me in the past and it wasn’t silly money.
:oops::oops: ... careful V8Droobin or you'll be getting the p*ss taken mercilessly :ROFLMAO:

very do-able though (y)
diverter in the boom slew circuit to feed them and one or two (depending on how many services required) Cetops to redirect feeds and direction of flow and just use pedal in one direction ..... or just two diverters  ganged up

I’m in nicks corner here- the pro lock is an amazing manual hitch. How the hell have you killed it not once but twice????
Something to do with the mechanism inside it . It won't tighten onto the pins . I called them and got some advice but I couldn't resolve it and at 500 hours it should still be tight. Old one was the same, allbeit did last a lot longer. I've seen enough now to not bother again

The Volvos 2012 with 3500 hours. My scope of work is different to yours in that I do Groundworks that on the whole use the bigger machines . I'd actually intended to get rid of the Volvo after I bought the Kubota but I've realised it's handy every now and then so it owes me nothing so as well keep it. This process has gone from fitting a standard hydraulic hitch to it as the manual is fecked , to fitting a hydraulic S30 hitch so it can share kx27 kit , to then piping it for the engcon, to finally trading it and getting a newer one that is piped ! I need to put the brakes on somewhere in this process !!!

At 3500 hours theres no point spending much on it imo.

Any hitch I put on it could be put on its replacement. I would go Volvo again at this size if I did replace it. I've got an unfinished house just now that needs finished before any more plant comes . Having said that , I'm looking at a tractor in an auction up this way tomorrow 🤫
Volvo hitches are Miller aren't they

To be fair it's a simple mechanism- Ive had mine apart several times and put it all back together- they can screw themselves apart when you're tightening up the bucket which causes slack in the system. On my three tonner it will go nice and tight initially but half an hour later it's all gone loose again😩

That’s my issue

Is your proloc worn out.I had one which started on an ec15b,then another ec15b and then onto an ec18c.i then went onto a ecr25d so no longer run smaller machines.the above hitch done well in excess of 5000 hours and was still good when I sold the last machine.I know the current owner and the hitch is still ok.

Mine was harford
My dealer in Norwich only supplies harford buckets and hitches unless people want differant.I've honestly never had a manual proloc come loose, ever.the hydraulic one I use on a customers takeuch is great but it sometimes jams with dirt and you have to shake it a bit to release it.as the owner is a builder it gets zero maintenance and I've recently had back at my farm for storage where it had its first service and was 270 hours over for first service.

Steelwrist do a s30 tilt in hydraulic or manual flavours no idea on cost though, as getting prices from steelwrist is similar to getting quotes from the nfu
