Must be something to do with it that was my similar thought .
All the hype of 5G don't think I've ever seen my phone use it and it supposedly can do.

I only ever see 5g in London. Even on the underground. It's amazing the signal blackspots you get even in the developed south, feel sorry for the third world north of the Watford gap.

💯 my phone signal is constantly dropping calls

I think one of it is phones aswell. Newer phones seem way worse than older ones. Plenty of times I can stand next to other people and one of us has full signal and the other none despite all being Vodafone.

thought starlink was pretty damned salty per month ???
how do you set up your phone to make calls on wi fi ? surely it defaults to network ?
we can see our mast across the valley here - 'bout a mile as the crow flies - always have 5bar

£75 quid but BT was about 60.
Worth every penny to me 5 of us hammering at times ... I run it's as a business "backup line"🤫🫢
New phones now default to WiFi calling if setup and no network available.

From next year all business phones will be wi fi calling (landline) and domestic a year or so later I think

I read that somewhere recently too ... hard wired phone'll be non existent .... some killing'll be made replacing anyone who has a hard wired phone with a new handset/receiver -- you can bet they'll be bloody expensive too

openreach have a duty to install an adaptor so you can still have a "landline" on a broadband line afaik...for folk who have no other option

I don't think my phone does WiFi calling. I only ever buy the cheap Motorola's. And always think it looks a bit dodgy making business calls via WhatsApp

Just decided to check and found it in settings. See if it helps.

It will help in the yard as the signal there is terrible, biggest problem I find is when driving or even walking around. Even worse when your both driving

the last house we built had great signal ,could see the mast. put a small tp router in with a smarty card to run the cctv whilst it was on the market.the buyers put his unlimited ee card in the router 80 to 90 mbps ,no extra broadband contract needed

mine's £28/mth with OVO (was SWALEC) open ended - can ditch 'em anytime and better responses to issues then BT ever were.

many years ago there was talk of the grid doing BB down the power lines - most homes have an electric supply so instant network - never happened though - guessing BT put the kybosh on it somehow.
