Well we rocked up on Friday and took the grandchildren round to see all the exhibits and displays. Too much to see in a day so it’s ongoing…

…made several visits to the Autojumble looking for that elusive bargain 🤪
Then look who I bumped into whilst browsing through a stillage of hydraulic hoses - none other that the famous DelBouy 😊
We chatted for ages about the usual bollocks 🤪

Our 'camp' for the 4 of us.
That's my friend Duncan testing his wife's mobility scooter before we set off for the day. Sandy has Parkinsons and is only in her 50s
"Oi Dave, did you bring yer generator?"
"No mate, I did tell you that we was off grid and on solar this year"
"So how are we gonna charge it each day?
"An inverter to run of yer MH batteries mate" - we bought one and it worked a treat ;)

The Fair Ground at night was specular, colourful, noisy and full of drunken Pikeys looking for a fight

Yeah without the working field its poor. And the pikeys put me off aswell 😁
We won't be going back again. Been there and done that etc.
There was four pikey lads camped right next to us. Made friends with them early on.
They were all immaculate and polite. New pickups and camping gear.
One was a boxer and ran his own roofing business and said he was fed up with the others getting pissed
After two days he told me that they had had enough and were leaving.
They all left early leaving behind their tent and all their new camping gear
Now I'll be looking at other shows where there are working plant and stuff such as Welland.
But I still think there is a place for Steam Fairs.
Up this way we have the Grand Henham Steam Fair which we been to many times :)
