Not expensive cartridges as they have more in them unless ur buying cheapest of cheap grease even so you'd need to use a lot of grease to bankrupt the job. With g coupler you have 2 hands spare or with solid end you do anyway. I weighed up the cordless job after using an air one for a few years but i find that with several different machines i can't grease everything with one type of end (actually use 3 different ends regularly).

There is one of them on one gun you just can't see it and another on another grease gun elsewhere. Actually the biggest nuisance with takeuchi is half the grease nipples are recessed into pin ends and g coupler doesn't fit hence the straight solid ends.

never get me mitts dirty with the Alemites either TBH .... unscrew end cap ... plunge old stick into bin .. end cap off a new one, slip it in, rip the end cap off and screw the head back on ...... get greasier cleaning what's squidged out o' the pins, than refilling 'em

should've bought all the guy selling these had, at 18 quid a shot ...... the G couplers're dearer, unless you buy the ying tong version and frankly, the one i've tried has so far been better than OE. ... better grip & release
The pistol grip version is even better
Although eye wateringly expensive from what I've seen
But the are the same apart the handle which has a moveable hinge point to give two gears

I have an adapter that’s male to female so into g coupler and then can get at the ones in the pins on the Takeuchi

Yes I've done the same I have a 90 elbow on it to for the track tensioners on hinowa dumpers as the nipple faces along the track frame

Been reading this tread with interest to see what others do.
My 3cx has about 70 nipples, but I'm not working it like some of you guys, so daily (monthly!) greasing isn't required. A battery gun would not be worth the hassle.
What I do use is a Mcnaught gun that bolts up to a 2.5kg tub.
The tub sits on the ground (or where ever) and you are only waving the pistol around. As a bonus, the pistol will do high flow or high pressure.

The other thing about battery guns is that they can put out massive pressure without any effort. Given up with that G coupler as can't get to most mini digger nipples with it.
Given the choice between tring to pump the gun wiuth one hand whilst trying to clamp it with my knee against the machine, and holding the coupler with the other hand, coupled with a nipple that requires all you can give it on the levers, I'm sticking with a £70 battery gun. It's paid for itself already. Might be different on larger machines when you can get to every nipple with a straight nozzle, but on the minis you need two hands for the job so IMHO f**k getting RSI with a pistol grip gun or struggling to hold a lever gun.

Yeah but gonna try a Milwaukee one too. This one is great but always needs a bleed after a few pumps of a new cartridge. To be fair, so does every bloody gun I’ve ever used.
Grease my E27 this morning before starting work. Took around a minute. I have a £25 makita knock off drill on it permanently.

I have to agree with @doobin the cartridges are more expensive, they make out you get more for your money but in reality you don't.I appreciate a 18v grease gun isn't needed and can be done by hand or air compressor which I do both. But I love a gadget and a tool for the shed.

I’ll believe it when I see it - have been waiting 18 months for its ‘imminent arrival’ so far!I got a reply back from Makita. Their new grease gun is finally due for release in Spring 2021.
