It's a tough world, you'd think a man saving his cash up and buying something would be a victory story not a horror story......but I understand where y'all are coming from.

Heard a story of a bloke driving over from Iraq with money in a breif case to buy machines out of the yard i rent this was years ago mind pretty sure they said it was a golf mk3 😄.

Load the front of the shipping container with booze and put the machine in afterwards

I accept cash if the customer wants to pay that way for the full amount including vat, I think i pay .35p for every £100 put in the business bank account

I'm led to believe bank ask questions if you take over 1k in now. Have to use bank you have account with as well so whatever way you look at it they know who you are what cash you have and can pass that info on. Best way to get economy moving is to get money in circulation even better if you can get all the cash from under mattresses dragged out.

little story, passed on to me by my old man decades ago

two old 'Dai boys', flat caps and mufflers, scruffy overcoats, walk into the RR showroom in Cardiff one morning ... salesman eyes them up and down and carries on at his desk ... after twenty minutes or so and Dai and Dai had perused a few motors, he walks over and asks if he can help (tongue in cheek)...

The one Dai says "I'll take this one and our Vern'll have that one"
"really sir ... and how does one intend to pay for these cars?"

at which point 'our Vern' opens a battered old suitcase full of notes and Gabriel says "with this"

The two old Dais were Vernon and Gabriel Short ... Short Bros. Plant, from Newport ..... they paid cash and had their 'Rollers' ...... couldn't do it today

Heard A similar story from a sales guy that I once worked with, He started out in the VW garage straight out of school, it was in town and straight opposite the cattle market.
One friday after the market an old guy came in and had a look around, old tatty clothes, straw in his pockets.... you can picture it. None of the sales guys wanted to speak to him, and sent the young guy over! They chatted for a good while about a new VW etc and he left on is little MF tractor and said he would be back next week.
Sure enough he showed up the following week and the next few weeks and the young guy always chatted to him and got the info he needed.
The other guys used to wind him up about wasting his time etc, but the young guy always made time for him.
One day the showroom door opened and in walked this suited gentleman with 2 bodyguards and all the sales guys wanted to get talking to him! But he said, no I want to talk to Paul!
Turns out it was the old farmer, he was a large contractor that did a lot of work for the security services during the troubles here in N.I, He was basically a marked man! His old farmer disguise was his way of getting out and about with out being spotted.
He bought a whole fleet of cars that car and basically dealt with this guy until he left VW. Says he got alot of commission from him!

Wasn't he the one who got stopped on the way home from the market by a shiny new constable and breathalysed.

Waaay over the limit , said "you'll lose your license for this" , old boy said "don't think I will"

Police officer thought i've not got him on the unofficial list of young farmers, firemen , freemasons and other exempt classes so booked him.

Turned out he'd never bothered getting one :D

I love story’s like this .
We sold to a guy from Jamaca a few years ago actually it was @Casedriver old 3cx . The guy called me but when they arrived the lady was his like help and she had one of them hair things thst made her hair really tall like Marge from Simpson and he wasn’t what you would call a digger man. I have time for anybody though had to show them through the machine . Anyhow he bought it and then bought his mates to buy more. When he bought his mates they all said we need to go for a drink to celebrate buying this digger so we went to my local and alas we had the best afternoon they were a great craic . Never judge the digger trade in Jamaica is pretty high we have sent a lot of parts over since . They are all very laid back and great to deal with
