Cmon @V8Druid suprised at you spreading fake shite like this? Labour were not even in power in 93, so not sure how they would have been sued?

Yes it's an old one that but fact still remains he's still a twat 😂😂;

"It is true that Mr Starmer, before he was an MP and Leader of the Opposition, represented five asylum seekers as a barrister in a case against the government"

Yes he’s a twat - I agree, but using/spreading fake/hate news and lies or just making s**t up doesn’t benefit anybody and increases division.
Everyone has a short memory and thinks that the whole list of social and economic problem in this country are a result of the last 9 months of government 🤣

fair enough .. couldn't remember who was in 10 in '93 .. but he is still a tw*t and as Gavin says the jist of it appears to have a basis in truth
and in my defence it was a short night, Clara arrived at eight and I'm on screen saver ATM, trying to keep her amused - extra day off school for her, but mummy's gone to her school :rolleyes:

Regarding the recent backbench rebellion over PIP - I came across the tail end of the 'Briefing Room' BBC prog - it is 1/2 hr & can be heard here
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002f9fz - was able to hear it in full
In short the take up of these benefits have increased 40% since 2019 - mostly for young people with mental conditions. This has been unique to the UK, in similar advanced western countries numbers have remained stable or even dropped. The present government did try to tackle this only to have the rug pulled from under it by its own back benchers. Their answer is more taxes but these have never been higher in peacetime at least since WW2. A point arrives when higher taxes mean less collected as the economy starts to tail off. I gather we are already there. I do not see a very bright future in all this

I know of a few people on pip and they are royally taking the piss.

Multiply that numerous time in every town and city and there you have it.

Most on mental health need a slap around the head as the majority are just lazy *****

My biggest difficulty in understanding is how not going to work can improve the situation.
I've felt depressed in the past as I'm sure many have, but going to work was my constant, a sense of purpose and achievement everyday. There have been days when I really didn't want to go to work, and either I went in and realized i was being silly and it wasn't all that bad, or I got another job.
I also think a lot of this stems from the wishy washy work environment we have. People clammer to sit in stuffy offices staring at a screen as work like construction is below them, when in reality hands on jobs give a great sense of purpose, self worth, self pride and achievement. And I think a sense of achievement is really important.
