One very good reason NOT to vote Reform is that part of their mandate is to raise VAT threshold to 125K. I want it reduced to 25K!
Couldn't agree more. Spent years teetering around the threshold. Not going VAT because worried about losing work. Then went over threshold and had to. But then realised that the only jobs that I the missed out on were generally the ones I didn't want to do anyway as customers were trying to do it on the cheap! Sure it's different in your line of work against many one man bands who aren't registered though.

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
You can voluntarily register for VAT you know?

We do all the vat returns our self - now made even easier by accountancy software!
was about to say the same thing .. the thresh hold is purely a point at which you must, but you can register for VAT anywhere below it .. double edged sword ... can claim it all back but then have to charge on everything you do AND you have all the paperwork - but it does have a lot of advantages

At the time when I was debating whether to go registered I was doing alot of private work. So thought I'd loose out alot of work. The reality is almost anyone running lots of kit would likely either be registered or have to charge as much anyway to factor not being able to claim back on their purchases. Would hate not to be registered now. Accountant chargers £50 to submit vat returns so not the end of the world

Having happily said a few months back I was of the opinion politics where rapidly sliding into a 1930's Germany vibe I can confirm we are still in the right track.

A slightly unsavoury group of characters are talking more sense than the more current leaders, and to be honest I can see them getting in...... Nothing wrong with it and will do the country alot of good to have a major shock and change from the stagnant cess we have had to date.

I just hope everyone that backs reform will step in to stop the paki in the corner shop being robbed or burned out should the world continue to get nastier.
