Nearly every council worker I’ve encountered have been incompetent, lazy, permanently sick with mental health or none testable something else, or just down right corrupt certain highway department for a county council beginning with D and sounds like barbyshire could teach the Costra nostra how to exploit money and take back handers.
Wish I had the dashcam from the other week...

They are raising up sections of the bustops with tactile and high kerbs etc...
One big one up the road I noticed them tarmaccing it all up etc job done. Next day they peckering it all up and relaying it all ...studied it can't see any discernable difference but it made me laugh. There's normally a few welfare vans . Plus a guy with suit and shiny hivis watching . One lad on digger and a few other lads on their phones or leaning on shovels. Spectacular how long it takes to relay a few kerbs 👌🏼👌🏼
Wtf they dont use contractors on fixed price FFS

The one decent old boy Clark of works told me head took a bung on the patching crew, two canters with hot boxes covering all of big county, they are on contracted hours but here is the kicker they get to schedule the jobs that are pending so he said they deliberately go border to border until contract hours are up driving past near jobs then go on over time at huge rate then do a run of jobs next to each other to empty the box on the way back to yard. Council have no rights to dictate schedule etc contacts all in contractors favour, manager got this extension built to get contract. Used to be done by council Clark reckons costing 4x what it used to.

There is a big haulage guy up here with lots of wagons 3000+ keeps a box at old Trafford that is always full on council employees

The amount of lay-bys I’ve passed with council or subs emptying hotboxes into 🤬 Fill the damn potholes you’re being paid to fill. No edge seal used on lots of the repairs so they get to redo it a couple of weeks later!

came and slung a load of black top in some of the potholes at the bottom of our lane last week ... no prep, cut out, nothing -- looked like it'd been wacked down with the back of a shovel .. worse than the bloody potholes .. mostly all out again now and worse than was .... utter waste of money :mad::mad: 🤬 🤬 🤬 🤬

You have read this right !? It’s actually dropped under Labour and was higher under the Blues 🤣
Did you read my question? Genuinely interested to hear their plan as we badly need one...this could be their chance to actually win back some support.

It’s hard to understand why it (excessive immigration) cannot be dealt with . We live on an Island. Maintaining a constant population can’t be that hard to achieve in theory. Why is it so difficult in practice ?

Because the government are wet lettuces.
After the first couple of boats got sunk on purpose, they would definitely slow down.
And in the nicest way possible we have enough racist bigots on the dole in this country to staff a dinghy sinking brigade for very little extra expense.
I know it's not nice to meet these problems with violence but a pleasant chat over a cup of tea doesn't seem to be working.

look at the dates ------ " Sir Keir Starmer seized on the figures - which cover a period before Labour took office ......... On his watch (Smarmer's) already small boat crossings are up by 23% compared to last year " :ROFLMAO:

some fast patrol boats half a mile off the French coast blasting up and down the coast'd sink many, 'fore they got too far out and leave the Frogs handle the aftermath

A dash cam would of been useless. You needed a time lapse camera, the speed these lot work at.. (y)
