Not wishin for owt just charge accordingly on tax FFS.
Yeah but if you tax leccy to make up for what govt is losing the incentive to run one (cheaper) will disappear. But that's easy sorted heap a load more taxes on fossil burners.

if they have their way there will be no fossil burners in 8 years time ..... not only will there be no new ones to buy, I'll guarantee you they'll have made running an existing one eye wateringly expensive .......

but the taxation is supposedly for the upkeep/maintenance and development of the road network Gaz ... if you're running around on it then you should be paying for the privilege .. same as everyone else who pays even more with fuel duties on top ... the leccy brigade are supposedly running on 'cheap (not likely to be so cheap as of April) fuel' ..... so there's the theoretical incentive

The tax collected ain't been spent on the roads for a long time, do you never get out 🤣
Fossil burners will end up like smoking. They'll do that well off the taxes they won't want tax them off the road completely.

Got bored of electric ages ago. But I’m tempted for another atm
Never mind leccy even newer cars have no character any more. Everything sounds the same (crap) and nearly everything has same gearbox there's very few cars have anything to make them stand out.
