And that's the biggest issue with sifting the dross..... Both EV promoters and slanderers are allergic to providing proper numbers.
Exactly my thing with electric. Give me real whole world costs not the pr bs. I have nothing against clean energy in fact absolutely support it, but don't feed me bs

A few years back I’d done extensive comparison testing on a prototype 22t electric excavator. The same month at Plantworx, without introducing myself, I was talking to a sales rep for the same company, who told me that this exact prototype machine had a run time eight times what me and another operator had consistently measured. How I kept a straight face I’ll never know. With electric vehicles as with wars, the first casualty is the truth.

With the price of fuel going up and possible uncertainty of supply I have bought a cheap EV car 😎

Low mileage (51k) Gen 1 Nissan LEAF with a healthy battery.
My thinking was to:
1. replace my Mondeo project car
2. Use for local trip as a daily driver
3. Charge overnight at 3.99p/kWh or from my solar when the sun shines ☀️

So far it's ticking all the boxes for me. And will add details to my own blog on this Forum :giggle:

I wonder what the range towing 3.5t would be? 85k plus VAT ...... might be the only option in the future the way things are going

how can that possibly be 'pedestrian friendly ' with the front like a brick wall and all the angular corners everywhere not to mention the energy absorbing bumper ???

I think the energy absorbing bumpers have been tested out, I heard it was being used to carry paramedics to an injured person, and slid off the track and crashed, mountain rescue had to come to take the paramedics the rest of the way. Its gone quite about it since, properly parked in the corner of the workshops.

My sis just put an order in for a ford explorer through her work (NHS) she says it's 4wheel drive which is what she wants to get to her house halfway up Benrinnes 😶 gonna be a few weeks to come so will see what like when it arrives

I have followed in the footprints of @Routy56 with an electric car purchase. Could not quite drop down to a Nissan so had to spend a bit more.
Welcome to the fleet. A 2014 BMW i3 Rex. Doesn’t have the biggest battery ever so is only showing around 70miles on a full charge, but for those that don’t know what a Rex is, the magic is a 600ish cc scooter engine that runs a generator to charge the battery. So I managed to get from the depths of London back to Gloucester, around 130miles, last night. I did stop and put half a tank of fuel in at Swindon as the range was saying 55miles left from both battery and fuel, with 45 miles to go. I was concerned that due to a road closure the diversion would make me rather nervous, so the 5litres of fuel (only a 10litre tank) topped up the range and removed any anxiety that switching on the headlights would cause. Currently plugged into a granny charger and due to charge tonight on cheap rate electric.
I face a 60mile a day school run from September so will see how this works out.
First impressions are of a very nice car. Steering is a bit light on the motorway but that is not really its intended use.

bet that wasn't inexpensive - nice colour :cool::love: .... see they installed the obligatory/de rigueur oil leak under the front off side -- do you have to top up a reservoir for that too ;):LOL::p
can see your logic in the purchase
