And then costs a heap more money. That's the trouble with any renewables they've heaped the cost up as they expect most folk be getting a grant or payback of some kind.

re solar panels payments EON pays only for 50% of what I produce and gives me 5,38 p per kwh but charge me 23.36p per kwh so EON are making 18.22p per kwh out of me for storing it so I can use it later , EON are still ripping me off
They don’t store it!! Someone else gets to use it straight away.
In fairness, you are being paid 50% of what you generate regardless of you export any. Unless we have an export meter you could divert the surplus into water heating and still get the 50%

I did realize that they don't store it just pointing out they were making over 18 p per kWh out of me can't do water heating as got a pair of solar water heater panels which heats a large tank with very hot water

I think if people were serious about being eco then push bikes are the answer. People would be healthier too. Instead of hs2 wouldn't a network of cycle paths be a better way of getting cars off the road? Modern bikes are are extremely efficient, and you can get help from an electric motor. Obviously towing is a problem... but actually you can get trailers for bikes.
