Do you have any plans to build a workshop? Is the weather playing havoc with the Polytunnel? It is here. Its blowing at about 40mph with occasional 50mph gusts which means I can't open the doors as it just blows through and wrecks everything. Leaving them closed means the temperatures are ridiculous, I went in the other day and the digital thermometers had blacked out so I'm suspecting it went over 50'c. More research and vents needed.....
Am envious of your stick welding skills mind.

The one on the left doesn't like wet conditions, escapes all the time and just dies at the drop of a hat.

Its a bit of a hobby for the ones on the right aswell.

have had plans for years ... been designed in my head for a loooooong time ... might get 'round to it some time ... always summat needs doing and need to relocate my boxes, as 'the boss' has changed her mind about where it would best be erected - twice !!

polytunnel now firmly secured to the planet and has vents down its length so temp.s easy to control -- if it ever gets THAT warm here

as for the stick....been honing them for 60 years, so ought to have a bit of a handle on it by now ... or give up ... eye sight's the issue some times and the hand is not as steady as it used to be, sadly ... but cheers

I've had one since being a teenager and still haven't mastered it, although I must admit to not really researching it or practicing properly since I first got it (Got a MIG instead).
The main downfall with them is the weld looks complete so you draw away. Then tap the slag off to find a couple of bits of mouse poo under there
I might have to dig it out and have another go soon anyhow. The garage here is on a household type circuit/breaker board which the MIG won't run from until I put in a heavier duty circuit with RCD.

two little jobs finished off today ...
these turned out OK ...

ordered some more bearings last night and will knock out a couple more .... one for each side of the saw ..... got a load of 52 x 16 x 30,s here but no 30 BDMS ... was missing from the delivery the other week and still waiting for it to show up ... so easier to get some more 52/16/20,s

then mowed the lawn ... again .. intent on keeping it down as long as the weather permits and while I had the Countax under me AND the ground was nice and dry, gave the grass beside the drive a nap of the earth cut and collect ... if I can get round it with the Dane every 5 days or so - again weather allowing, it should be easy to keep on top of that too

leisurely lunch in the sun ... in a fleece .. N/Easterly's still with us then a couple of hours fettling Vicki's push bike, that's been sat here a while and fitted the seat for the little 'un to get transported about in ... Vicki can't keep up with Clara on her bike, when they go out and about with Lil' sis' strapped to her front ... another lazy cuppa or two in the sun and not a lot else ... been a lovely day apart from the bloody wind.

215 Amps. It just blows the fuse in the silly 13a plug or trips the RCD when you crank it up to weld something more than 3mm.

Keep up MB ..... I mowed and collected a second go today with the Countax ... bum hanging out/over the side, keeping it planted ...
's not it won't, .. 's just not easy - and forget turning up hill, just stops ... it's an 'exciting' 45 minutes, I'd rather not have to tolerate ..... and
you lot can't wreck it - I need it for the lawn !!

take it's an old school rectifier powered set, not inverter?

Probably needs a 16A outlet.

or even substantially bigger ... my 250A inverter MIG needs a 16A outlet on full chat
