I'll be honest i never did either but I've started watching it again with current line up. Genuine banter between them not forced/staged not unlike it used to be in some ways (ie you watched it as much for the craic as the cars).Does it still exist?

thanks Matt ... no it's a cable H/brake .... had to take the carrier off the one side as the caliper just wouldn't let go .... poxy combined handbrake calipers ... ****in' hate them ... one wound in relatively 'sweetly' ... t'other was hard fought for every bloody milimetre
..... could be a new one job next week - need the car this week .....

managed to crack the carrier bolts on the one side that needed it, but what a bitch to access ...... and agree, splines and impacts are not happy bed fellows.
local motor factors had me troos doon on the spline drives .. no singles over 12mm so had to buy a set -- 14/16/18s long and short ..... 45 bloody quid, but impacts so they ought to be good ... they'd better be !!

Rear caliper seizures are a common failing of the VAG group cars of that era.
