Yes correct i think there are 4 screws oonce you get the instrument cluster out you can shine a torch down in there, Somwher i have the write up for doing this job, I will hunt it out for you.

ain't gonna be looking at it for a while ..... guess where I am ??

sat watching a sequel to a great series we watched a few years ago .. very good .. turned the box off 'bout midnight and suddenly started to sweat .. thought oh sh1t .. gonna be a bad night ... time for some tramadol --- by the time I'd taken them and gottten to the bathroom upstairs, I was soaked ... absolutely drenched - running down my face / back /arms / legs and the pain was 12/10 ....

fought back chucking up for half an hour - but had to, by one o'clock and continued on/off 'til half two
shouted on Pam to get up & dressed and she's freaking out ...
no way could I drive and she was way too stressed, so had to ride it out 'til about four when it'd calmed down a bit - enough to sit up in bed and try for some zeds
full house Pancreatitis - again - God knows what caused it ?.. was just sat on the sofa (much like last July's episode)
Up at seven, glugged a dose of Oramorph, which didn't touch it, so packed a bag and called Vicki to come take us to Hereford - fed the cats and we were in A&E by 8.40
told 'em what was wrong ... " How do you know exactly? " " well I've had it three times before and was here last July with it - take my word I have Pancreatitis ! "
eventually got some attention - bloods all normal - ish, 'cept for the pancreatic enzyme Amilase - normal 100-120 units - mine 1241.9 - " yep you're right "
CT scan sorted after organising a couple of litres of fluid, I.V., with some liquid paracetamol, Tramadol and morphine for good measure, chest x-ray and a bed on the ward I spent a week on last July, by half three.

got up here and ...
" any chance of a coffee and summat to eat please ladies? "
I was 12 hrs ahead of when I hit the ward last time and'd gotten past the writhing on the floor stage and was a few hours ahead on the pain relief too ..... and much to my pleasure was hungry which was good news as far as I am concerned ... took 3 or 4 days last time to feel like eating.

sod's law, had a hell of a busy week with the girls this coming week, but I could not see my body getting over last night without some medical intervention.
trouble is they're all gonna want my gall bladder ... they'll have to MRI me first and show me what happened to the stone they failed to extract from my billiary duct with the two ERCPs last October ... if it's still there I've not got much of an argument -- if it's moved it'll almost certainly be the cause of last nights instantaneous episode ...... and I'll be keeping my gall bladder - it's elective surgery, after all and previous bouts had 9 & 6 years between 'em

however -- one in five ppl don't survive pancreatitis hmmm!!! ----I'm on #4

episode 1 - 2010 .... I'd been 'bottoming' a ditch and pushing with my upper right leg/hip/lower gut, so reckon I'd moved one
episode 2 - 2019 ... having a routine ultrasound scan in Caeeeerdiff - radiologist got over keen/heavy handed and was an instantaneous jobbie - soaked in sweat in seconds
episode 3 - 2025 ... absolutely no idea, other than the fact I'd hoovered the house top to bottom with an upright Dyson - could've been the 'arm action' disturbed one?
episode 4 - 2026 .... sat doing sod all - IMHDO the one they failed to get with the ERCPs decided to migrate .. an MRI will determine that ??

aside from the first one it is bloody instant,
the sweat apparently is caused by the intensity of the pain
Doc.s say it is as close to childbirth pain as a man will ever experience, but ...
prolonged and continuous, so a lot worse
Pam absolutely hates watching me go through it

My cousin suffers with stones for the last 10 years ,no word of a lie sweeping up and next day stones are killing him ,has been hoovered out ,lasered etc has a jam jar full ,

Son has similar problem .last week after many attacks his gaul bladder perforated and spat a load of crap and a stone out into abdomen ,they are very reticent to take out the gaul bladder as he had had many issues after stomach cancer .liver transplant has been talked about

if I wasn't waiting for an MRI/MRCP, which I hope I'll get in the morning, I'd've asked to be discharged today
dunno whether the riding it out, for 8 hrs without intervention made a difference. .....
wouldn't really choose that again though

amazed she recognised me after 14 months of 'customers' ...
must've made an impression last July
just been given the choice of pain med.s for the night Oramorph or a tramadol cocktail
's gonna have to be the cocktail ..
give it an hour and I'll have a new body for 12-15 hrs
and'll hopefully sleep through all the bloody machines and monitors pinging, binging and squealing .
been stuck in a high dependency ward ...
and not gotten a lot of sleep, between them and being woken up every two hours for summat or other ...

MRCP at 15.30 this afters ... surgeon came to see me this morning to tell me at 11.10 ... oh and nil by mouth for 4 hrs prior
was 7.30 when I had me sausage bap from the canteen .. ward brekky had been a.n.other cup of coffee .... nothing else worth mentioning ... had little chance of finding summat and consuming it 'fore 11.30 ....
ward lunch which I'd ordered at 08.00 was fish cake and chips which looked real nice when it arrived at 12.00 and I had to send it away
was bloody starving ... and had at least 4 hrs 'fore I could eat again
the chicken mayo sarnies went down bloody well, just after four.
he also said to me that unless the whirly buzzy noise box showed up anything drastic, he was gonna discharge me (after I gave him all the right answers)
so sat at me desk at home this evening

a doctor Raseed rang me at just after seven this evening from the radiology team and said -- bloody stone was still in the main pancreatic duct .... come back next week for a third ERCP ....
" sorry - not happening ... talk to Dr Ransford who did two last October and failed to get it 'cos the duct was too inflamed , two months later ... needs to be left a few more months to stand any chance of succeeding "

At least you are back at home now, A stone is very common nowadays apparently in some regions where the water is hard and very chalky they are very common and i have heard eating a lot of tomatoes and fruit like strawberries can cause it, a friend of mine had a stone in the end because the could not get it to disolve he decided to have a kidney removed (stuff that) for some reason but he is ok now. Anyhow put your feet up and have a speedy recovery, Best wishes to you Mr Druid!
