It was a great show, really enjoyed it.
Haven't heard of the Victory show, looks like it's the same weekend as the land rover show at Belvoir Castle anyway. Diary is rammed these days

I would say victory show is better although thats not doing the Harborough one down. Did you get any fly overs at Harborough? At least it gives the lads in the prison something to watch as well! Are you in Leicestershire?

I'm glad I put a new mask on to wire brush that old manhole lid with the 5" Mak and wire wheel .... dust - unbelievable
then set about creating a new frame for it as it's not the original lid and that plastic surround/base is a piece of crap -- did outlast the tin lid though

had to get the tarp cover rolled back off me steel stock, to find what i wanted, buried under heavier stuff ... worked a treat - forgot to get a pic though - real easy

and yes I tried it in the chamber too
coat of supposedly shiny sh1t ... which is more of a satin finish .. dries quick though and seems to hang in there well

No fly overs unfortunately, wouldn't surprise me if they had some in future years, I think it's big enough to justify it
No I'm Hertfordshire, only an hour 30 up the road though. Can't recall having been out in the Leicestershire countryside before, definitely will again though, some lovely rural areas. And saw a massy 3070 in the wild, had to resist stopping the truck and making a bid
Went to Foxton locks on the Sunday, very interesting, good view and a decent pub lunch.
Harry seemed to enjoy the museum

We've been before and they've had flyovers. I think that was when it was called Harborough at War. Went last year and can't remember if there was a flyovers or not. There's a few bits to check out here if you come at the right time. Harringworth viaduct is an impressive sight. We like an afternoon out at foxton. Took some aussie mates there once and they were very unimpressed! Didn't seem to appreciate the history. Victory show is a must you will have to come another year.

not much done yesterday ... day out with the kids just outside Leominster at this place ... https://www.herefordshirewt.org/queenswood ... nice spot and nice and shady ... some impressive trees and a hell of a collection. ...Plus some chainsaw sculptures for the kids too

2nd pallet diminishes further after loading up the tug's trailer - had to change bodies yesterday as the kids wanted to play with it when we got back from the Queenswood yesterday ...

struggling a bit for anything decent to 'build' with but got a bit done through the day today with several interruptions

some laid in dry to get an idea of how to go and some more gap filling/pointing yet to be done ... as said - never gonna make a living doing this tish
out of cement too - trip into town required, for some fresh bags

was about three an' a half quid, last time I had need

been using some I've had here for years and is still curing perfectly (also got two solid bags that've obviously been subjected to moisture)

well managed to get a bit done the last couple of cooler days
capped this off, pointed and backfilled - plenty of rubble and a semi-stiff poly bag of cement that's been sat here a long time .. gave it some moisture and it's gone off pretty solid TBH

then got on sorting t'other end out

Brulee found himself somewhere shady yesterday, for a kip

and found someone local doing screened topsoil for 15 quid a tonne collected on FB MP .. rang him this morning to confirm all as was the ad said - yep come on down and grab some ... 2 miles from home
was about to leave when I thought I'd better give the tyres a once over ,on the 10 x 5, as not been used in a while .... found two like this

so stuck the spares on and off we went
little muck away outfit .. don't think we know each other, but the guy at the yard screening and dealing with folks certainly knew me from my Milsteel days ... and his daughter and SIL have just bought the house at the top of our drive a few months ago .. had a real good chat with him and service with a big smile .. best tonne of topsoil I've had in't trailer -- reckon it was closer to two ... 2nd gear coming up Whitehouse pitch coming home -- poor little Kia
had to do a body swap again when I got back .....

so's i could transfer all the 'spoils' from the trip out, down the garden

50 full shovel fulls to fill yon skip .... had five skip-fulls and a 30 shovel-fulls to completely empty the trailer after tea --body redeemed itself well
put these on after the first skip-full -- losing too much out the sides wit this fine stuff

made 'em a while ago but not tried 'em before ... worked a treat

reckon I am gonna need another two loads ... by the time I get it all spread out - which'll be fun - oh for a baby VA-r/tilty

so after tea and I'd sorted the last 2/3rds of a skip-full, was time to turn my attention to these

and their bloody perished valve stems -- new items when they were fitted - obviously cheapo Ying Tong shite ... will have to check all the others tomorrow

Kendas came off surprisingly well - way easier than expected
only needed to gt the one side down off the bead to fit a new stem

number one done .. on to number two

job done by eight o'clock ... wash, change, Magnum Utopia and settle down to watch Apollo 13 - not seen it in years - they were three very lucky men

go get a second load in the morning and repeat, although I might just set up a grab on the 'Drema, either on a dangly rotator, or the VA-r undecided ATM - both are a faff but don't fancy another 560 shovel-fulls tomorrow
