woke up at 05.00 - freezing ... only had a sheet on us again last night and the wind howling in the Velux was 'chilly' .. Pam snoring and didn't wanna wake her chucking the duvet back on the bed so grabbed some 'joggers' (I call 'em 'slobs' - [Wayne & Waynetta ] ) and a hoodie .... came down and had a coffee and went back to sleep - much warmer - was 14C outside - the point at which the boiler'd usually kick in, but downstairs was still 20C indoors ...... 24C out there ATM and a cool Southerly wind
at least the tree pollen's fooked off, with the wind ... gave me a mega-snotty, eye watering day, yesterday - really hate the effects - can't do anything with it and a struggle to get anything done when yer nose is dripping like a knackered tap

at least it had this morning ... been grim this afters 🤬

this wheel's been a PITA for some time ... holds air for about two days then gotta fill it with wind again 😤
so decided to deal with it after lunch .... can't get the rim off the axle (without some effort to make a puller for it ) so decided to wrestle the tyre off in situ - they're hard fought on the bench
WP_20260627_17_46_44_Pro.jpg

I'd assumed this was a tubeless fit, by the valve's installation (bolted in brass necked thing) and intended to bang a tube in it, as I also assumed the perishing was letting the wind out - ain't worth spending on new boots, for the use it gets:rolleyes:
so found a tube from 'stock' ;)... Had to fix a puncy in it first though :(- I'd sensibly left a match stick sized splinter in the offending hole making it easily identified as in need of repair :giggle:... fixed that and blew it up to check it(y)
WP_20260627_16_15_17_Pro.jpg

some numpty had obviously used tyre seal in the tyre in a previous life as it was covered in set gloop which rubbed off fairly easily for 95% of the tube .. then discovered a very iffy looking area of rubber, with a minute pin hole just starting so thought it'd be better dealt with it, first as last, after it'd been wrestled into yon wheel ...
so was a case of 'go big or go home'
WP_20260627_16_15_10_Pro.jpg

having wrangled the tyre off one side of the rim - I find it has a tube already o_Oo_O, so haul it out, blow it up and spent a good ten minutes 'drowning it' looking for air bubbles ... sod all - must've been an iffy valve (which I was sure I'd checked??:unsure: - 'praps I was dreaming :ROFLMAO:)
so wrestled the damned thing back into the tyre and blew it up - deffo no leaky valve - we'll see how it is in the a.m. ....... will be a very PO-ed Druid if it's flat again :mad:

I feel your pain with this having just repaired a tyre on the my Grillo ride on. Getting the inside bead off was the hardest part as there is no dish in the centre.
well it is still inflated this morning :giggle:
's why I fought it on the rim .. back bead is a hell of a depth and with it on the machine's axle still, nigh on impossible to slog off in situ
gonna have to create a puller to extricate it off the drive axle .. lack of lube, when last assembled, has it seized on there

eyes look like an albino white mouse this morning - pink - and left eyeball is bruised from too much rubbing.
got drops for them but only allowed 2x / day ... could do with 2x / hr ATM :(

Used to suffer terrible as a kid thankfully seem to have virtually grown out of it.
You need to source some local honey next year start using it once a day a coupe of months before you start suffering it might help you

I'm the opposite ...... never suffered with it 'til I turned 50 - initially was a nightmare - daily cetyryzene, taken 365 keeps on top of it most of the time, but when it's really bad it is a bitch .... grass pollen doesn't bother me - tree pollen kills me and all the long grass getting mowed of late is packed with fallen tree pollen
also avoid flower shops and anywhere that wreaks of perfume/etc.

well it ain't making the horrible noises tonight  .. much cooler .. but throwing a few 'gremlins' at me :cautious: .. ain't recognising MP4 files for some reason - even after a re-boot ? and chucked up a few odd notices, before rebooting ???:unsure:o_O
got a spare one under the desk (W10 box) and I've backed up the entire HD to my stand alone (do it daily, but been through 'everything' to be sure) -- got a new 1tb HD sat so might try cloning the box's HD and swapping it out, 'fore it fails?
anyone know if there might be any issues with trying to clone the OS and swapping the HD ??

been 27C most of the day and way cooler this evening, thank **** !! unbearable last night - was 27C here at midnight.

not quite the same level of 'quality' as the originals - both made in China though, so things ain't what they were 30 years ago - have had the sack truck since '96 - done well on the same set of boots really :giggle::giggle: gets used a lot
so after the sun had moved round enough to put me bench in the shade, chucked the sack truck on the bench and pulled the first one off

the right angle valves were a bit of a bitch ... in such a confined rim ... easy enough to refit, but getting some wind into them after was a sod .... took me longer to inflate than it did to refit the new tyres .... had to search out a flexi extension I use for M/c tyres - can't get an inflator on a couple I have - FJ 12 rear, especially and even then was still a bugger to hold the valve stem to screw on the extension !! ... got there in the end though

had a hell of a thunderstorm here last night 'round midnight and threw it down for ten or fifteen minutes .. didn't cool it down much though  or damp the pollen down  ... lot of haymaking going on next door and raising loads of tree pollen sat in the grass, turning for drying ... been wiped out the last couple of days, even with the max dose of 10mgs of cetyryzene I take daily, with the breeze (such as it's been) bringing it our way :(:(
cats're a lot happier to have it a bit cooler today, as is Pam ... really does not like anything much over 25C  which is more than enough for me too
So glad I moved to mac for laptop 💻 I remember pissing around with all that crap years ago. I think tbf mac is a bit restricted with what you can do. Some guy was telling me about Linux the other day but seems a bit above my pay grade ill just stick with apple.

On my sack truck the bearings keep failing while the tyres are fine. Already had 1 new set, need another now.
