more tidying up yesterday ... Pam out with some of her mates so no interruptions
cleared all the crud that's washed down off the bank, the last couple of years, the steel's been there
got both tools on the job - 'Drema holding the bag and 'Lil Jakie scooping and filling
amazing how much stuff there was and just how much could cram in a dumpy -- with a bit of persuasion
having gotten all that area cleared up I relocated a few vehicles so's I can have my turning space back, that they've been parked in .... disco relocated c/o the 'Drema and a couple of slings --- I'm pretty handy at wheeling stuff about with her
and it was half six and time to eat .. CBA after tea so have finished off a few odds an' sods this morning ... gotta be in town for 2.45 for Pam's eye test.....
yon bag of crud parked for now
and some bare patches
put some extensions on the 'Drema's forks (after i'd dragged them out of hiding), to shift the bloody steed - didn't wanna start - click, click, click and CBA to fanny with it - easier to pick it up -- and shifted it one slot sideways
pile of scrap waiting for me scrappy's grandson to call by and collect
shifted these mats to a new home
and got a load more cr*p to introduce to the burning bin
looking a little less cluttered/disorganised
and now have my turning area back
had become hard work returning with a trailer and turning around, as it was - straight forward circular swing again now
got a load of weeds and yet more bloody leaves to collect/deal with, when we get back later 'praps
had a dozen or so massive rain drops, just as I was parking the 'Drema, but came to sod all

shifted the 'bin' and the second Dane about .. get 'the bin' a bit further from the vehicles and burnt yet another binfull of leaves
that bin's been sat in the same spot for some time ...
then refuelled the 'toys'
CBA to fanny with a pump or get the engine cover up full height on the 'Drema to use the on board ... this was an easier option ... then swung round and gave Lil' Jake a top up too.
then spent a very hot couple of hours wrestling a tarp, fixing it to the one side of the new storage for me steel stock and getting a.n.other edge timber prep.ed and in place
the joint as per first one ... then got foamed and wrapped
CLS been dry stored in the roof of the black shed, but still badly twisted
then installed in place (temporarily - need to make it easily removable for future loading - have it sussed, but just wanted it in place for now, with a few screws)
seemed to have made it 100mm too long this edge
the drilled and tapped 34 mil. dia tube got attached to the other sheet edge and it rolled up sweet as
got some HD foam sheets under the ends sat on the sharp ends of the tube/box sections, to protect the tarp and it was time for munchies
forgot to say on the 28th ... was the anniversary of taking up residence here - 16 years ago !! WTF did that go ??

Finally got around to ordering these, having struggled lately to get the damned engine cover up on a few occasions ...
took me a while to get my head around their order process and get the configuration right, after several weeks have elapsed, since I last had this fresh in my mind
hope I got it right
closest I can get to what I want and'll have to extend them by 30mm - or move the mounts 30mil , but the originals didn't look to fully close, from the witness marks on the rods
got collared for a "can you just " Saturday afternoon .... Barrel used to be watertight, but although it's held water all winter the last week or so's weather has dried it out considerably, so had to sacrifice a new tarp's corner - had ordered a couple of 3 x 3m to cover a couple of bits of gear - gonna have to order a.n.other now - the one's now 1.5m x 3m and have a spare barrel liner
took a bit of wrestling into the right spot and Pam's been holding the camera again
was too bloody warm for this malarkey
all stapled in position and cut to suit the front lip ... new pump installed - no guts in the hand pump and had to strip the spout off it to persuade a piece of un-co-operative hose up through the guts of it ... got there eventually - sweat dripping off my nose
if anyone has need of a small pump to shift water these things are brilliant .. have used a couple of these lately ... one installed in that little band saw I re-furb.ed last year for the suds/coolant and replaced a big pond pump with one too -- shifts just as much water
would make a serious windscreen washer pump
and these things make a great power supply

A naturally aspirated diesel is nobody's friend in a road car.
The spec sheets are contradictory, so some may be old models.
It's bigger than I realised - 105.5" wheel base, so closer to a 110 than a 90
If you thought a series land rover had a rough ride ... wiki says the Ute is on 12pr tyres.
1.7 payload is impressive.

They had the pickup variants when I was in new Zealand 10 years ago. There is a premium version that has A/c so would think that had a demister.
From memory whilst they are long they are quite narrow.
I just think they seem cool. Bit like a lada niva

Looking at the specs, it's only the 4x4 that is missing the AC/heater/demister - it's clearly a price-point decision. I'm sure an export model would get tricked up.
I like the Niva - basically a Fiat 125 with a SUV (as it would be called now) body. More comfortable with it's coils than it's leaf spring competitors.
Still a lot on the road in germany.
