apparently it's no worse than the P38 on fuel - averages 14mpg

I know a guy who did that with a forward control 101, running an early low CR V8 ... worked well by all accounts

Is diesel gonna stay 20% more for the foreseeable? Would affect the economics of normal diesel cars I'd have thought?
