... Thursday another grim day ...you gonna blank the EGRs off are you .... could well have filled the manifold with s**t and carbon, but odd to be sudden , unless summat has broken away from a build up .... plenty of carb/brake cleaner required

If you’ve any diagnostics just check Rail pressure reading from sensor, I’m assuming the engine is common rail judging by the above post? They won’t even fire if the rail pressure isn’t seen by the ecu. Worth checking suction control valve on pump before taking pump off?PUMP! ...... bloody common rail
I must have missed the original post what engine are you on with? Guessing butterfly valve is EGR valve so assuming this isn’t jammed open and stuffing the engine with exhaust gasses causing a non start then issues are elsewhere. Any codes?

.... so dropped the SEC off the dipper .... wanted to leave it sat open, with the ram closed .. this was about the easiest way to get at the couplings, once off ... and that was the end of out-door activity for the day ... wasn't 'sposed to be here 'til today and the box had me foxed for a minute ... until I realised it was me track rod and drag link - hadn't ordered a ladder and's been on / off since ... but .... grand dadding duties first thing in the morning and noon, so can't see me getting a lot done .. in fact .. sod all .. just remembered Pam and some of her mates're out to a crimbo lunch and I've got the little un for the afternoon !!! .... wonder if she'd like to learn to weld

..... but send me some DECENT pix of it and I'll give it some thought ... the one I have may not be man enough ... but have considered buying one of these ying tong worm driven positioners .... some of 'em are bloody cheap and well decent for the cost ... would make for a very compact unit

... would only need one 'rung' to get you half way up ... just a bit too far a leap for my not so young legs I cheated and used a 'hop up' step ... could even weld a nut on the side, to screw a 4" long bolt into, just to give you the initial lift with one foot
