order code is still the same too ... how old is that set ? mine is genuinely 50 yrs old (actually, thinking about it - they're 49 yrs old - bought summer of '76 [and what a summer that was]) - started my 3yr course in Sept. '76
Yep us older guys remember summer of '76 very well - and we got married in July that year
I was an Apprentice with Post Office Telecommunications at that time and we had just bought our first house at £7,000.
Happy day when things were much simpler :giggle:
So next year will be Golden and we both hit the big 'seven oh' - double whammy celebrations

yeh that was some summer ... shaping up nicely ATM too ... rain is going to be a right pisser when it inevitably happens (or not????) - my 10 day forecast continues to show now't every day going forward - much to my amazement :cool::love:
be fine as long as our spring holds up - but told by previous owner of the farm as an entirety, who comes to see us whenever he's back from Oz, that it never has:giggle:(y)

had the bin glowing last night @Stock :giggle::giggle: all the sludge out the band saw sump and a few other odds an' ends

was still burning this morning  :ROFLMAO:
few pix of what to look for in a 3ph motor connection box Dave @Routy56 - first one is the horizontal's motor ... the rest're the vertical's after I'd wrestled it out of where it lives - 'kin heavy and very awkward, but couldn't get at the connections 'in situ' :(
WP_20250507_14_10_59_Pro.jpg
you re-arrange the links vertically for 220v running off a VFD

this un wasn't quite so simple - had to make up some links - set up for 440V on three wires (no neutral) as is
WP_20250507_15_19_36_Pro.jpg

WP_20250507_15_19_46_Pro.jpg

and new feed line wired in too - didn't cut off the spare fourth line - yer never know ;)
WP_20250507_16_09_56_Pro.jpg

and persuaded back into its 'accommodation' - then new cable routed into the guts of the electrical enclosure
WP_20250507_16_30_06_Pro.jpg
WP_20250507_18_54_37_Pro.jpg

and out the other side, then got one of the VFDs out, that I'd had sat
WP_20250507_16_29_52_Pro.jpg

and mounted it above the gland the cable appears from - these VFDs have no cable clamping facilities for inputs/outputs so have to consider carefully how to route the cabling so there's no strain on the connections whatsoever
WP_20250507_17_21_11_Pro.jpg

all you've got is a rubber grommet, so routing and length-ing the cable is critical
WP_20250507_17_23_47_Pro.jpg

stuck a flying lead on to give it a trial, but will be banging a chassis plug directly under the VFD to negate any chance of a flying lead getting pulled, tripping over it or catching it with summat - tea time put paid to that tonight and it's kids day tomorrow ... stuck the bag over the VFD in case - but ain't sposed to get any dampness any time soon

went to start the Golf this morning .. thought I'd left it unlocked, but obviously hadn't and was flatter than a badger on a bypass, courtesy of the alarm .. wouldn't even jump ... so got the big guns out -
WP_20250507_19_23_54_Pro.jpg

and left it charging for a few hours - started sweet as... after tea

made the trolley for this decades ago - was a total PITA on the little castor sized wheels it arrived on and needed to be able to spool a decent length of HD cable on the input .. needed a 32A supply, in work, for full boost, so put a 32A-3ph 5 pin on the lead to draw off a 'leg' on a 32A socket (and an adaptor to 13A-3 pin for basic charging)....
been a damned good charger and one day i'll get around to swapping those stupid, pissy little 'thumb nut' terminals, for some dinse sockets  - one day :giggle: .... might even put a chassis plug on for the supply lead, whilst I have it opened up too

did take a couple of short vids of the saw running and been trying to upload 'em onto Utube ... but damned if I can get them to finish loading - try again later

Yep thanks once again for more gripping useful stuff Gra

Burning drum - gotta love it
Me too - have got a pile of stuff waiting for the wind from the South (so I don't piss off the neighbours)
In this area the wind has been form the North or Northeast for weeks...

Thanks for the information about sorting out the link on the 3 phase motor to run in star delta mode.
And showing yer VFD being fitted.
Have just ordered on from yer eBay supplier. Big discount at 21% - I paid £63.98
Showing 7 sold and 6 in stock - you're probably the best customer :p

And can confirm that I can see yer Youtube on Shorts - "Its alive" :devilish:

Ditto on the wind front ... was real still that night so it all went straight up - I too wait for a S/SWesterly for the same reasons as you ;)
I need to eyeball the next VFD with the cover off and see if I can't suss that top row of connectors for remote switching abilities - the lack of cable clamping on them is my biggest 'bugbear' with them though.

God knows what happened to the uploads - have two IDs on there and loaded those on one, yet they appeared in the other ???:unsure: -- such as they were :rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

To be fair we have 2 laptops on windows 11 that need upgraded.... so I'm all ears at the moment
Hit windows key. Type update
Then you'll get the windows update screen.
Then you should get an option in there somewhere to upgrade to win 11 or get ready for windows 11.
It should ..give you an option to upgrade .
If not it'll itll tell you that's it's to old to upgrade .
If that the case I'd strongly suggest binning it as it's likely at least 5 years old .
For a business tool a laptop does well to do 5 years.
Ok for home stuff I've a lot older for the kids to watch YouTube on...
