some more bits for part 1 ......
... and some for 'part deux'
then some very tricky fabbing ... getting these pins to align (and stay aligned) is not an easy task with the amount of heat getting thrown at 'em - 1" pin in a 1" hole - has to be perfect - and square
but succeeded - very nicely ..
4 yokes ready for installation
these bits were a bit easier, other than keeping them square
went together sweet
those edges are getting flatted off and a.n. other lug attached, half an' half, so'll get consolidated with that
VERY time consuming, fiddly bits .. only way of getting the welds in that 16mm gap was a stick ... just as well with the bloody wind again today
our regular posty turned up after lunch with these ...
have annihilated all my 'stock' and twenty was only a couple of quid more than ten, so no brainer to take two boxes
..... and told him the story of the *rick who delivered the last package to the holiday let a mile away, that I had to go and find--didn't surprise him, he'd heard a few similar stories this morning
a.n.other purchase yesterday in Aldi ..... only colour they had ...
unlikely to stay this way for long
see 'em advertised last week in one of their email flyers and wanted a grey pair, but as these were all they had - "beggars can't be ....", etc.
bluetooth and work brilliantly - got close on 1000 of my fave tracks on my phone -- made mowing the grass a lot more pleasurable last night, after tea and the saw time today was a lot better than just stood there, listening to the band saw plough its way through a dose of 100 x 12 & 40 x 12 flats
They exceeded expectations dramatically TBH - very comfortable, cheap enough not to worry about and cancel a massive amount of background noise out -- as good as, if not better than defenders/muffs.
Can't wear 'em with me mask though
Must try them with my Nederman reactive, which i don't tend to use a lot - big fan of my old skool 'nod down'

got the red lump out the way first ...
it hadn't gotten any lighter ... but hand ball-able -just
set up the first yoke ... these have got to be bang on for part deux ..
seem to have forgotten to take pix today, but was concentrating on getting these yokes right ...
cut some braces and got them in situ ... chose some 50 x 50 x 6 RSA, in case I need to notch it at all, but eyeballed the red bit first, 'fore it came out and should clear with a few mil. to spare
the need for the braces will become apparent at a later stage of the game ... having stood looking/thinking about it later after tea, I think I'll pop a few more gussets/stiffeners in a couple of other places too
got this far when the 'bell' tolled ...
came back after tea and gave it all a good clean off and rounded off all the 'sharps' ...
and made sure the 70s' d still slip in and out fine ... zero distortion today then ... they're slightly longer than they needed to be -- but standard length to fit in everything else, so made sense to leave 'em long, rather than lose 15mil for the sake of it
out to lunch tomorrow for a friend's 60th, so not gonna get a lot done tomorrow -- so persuaded/humped it down off the bench and walked it into a box, to keep it dry (minus the 70s)
think @Bri963 might be able to see where this is going and 'praps a few others
