right - so now you've had a bit of a piss take :ROFLMAO:
today's progress, which ain't a lot really ..... :(
blowing like ferk again here today, so the roll of MIG wire stayed put on the bench, in me box
got the bosses for the 70s tacked in spot one side after consolidating the mount plate and adding a stiffener rib
WP_20240821_13_18_17_Pro.jpg

then flipped for t'other , bit of a polish up with a flap in the die grinder and made sure the 70s'd still slip in and out ok

WP_20240821_15_50_14_Pro.jpg
WP_20240821_16_03_31_Pro.jpg

the braces can stay put 'til I have finished with the hot stick, completely, then ...............
see if I could wrestle it into place ....
and make sure it'd fir in/out OK ..
got some more bracing to fit yet and wanted to be sure the red bit'd go in/out afterwards
WP_20240821_16_38_18_Pro.jpg
couldn't be arsed to start / get out Lil' Jakie, so man handled it in there -- will be using some mechanical handling next time - 's 'kin heavy

should protect it and its fittings/plumbing nicely ... (y)
been threatening all day here ...
and was blowing distinctly damp by five, with what was coming our way looking pretty grim towards the South, so covered it up for the night after liberally oiling the bosses

..was gonna cut some more bits up, but the weather changed that plan ...
went in search of a package that the Ebay seller and the Post office said they delivered to me yesterday  ..
here all day and didn't see a soul ...
seller sent me a pic of the claimed location, they'd delivered to ....

fortunately I recognised it as a little holiday let about a mile away, that's just been sold, so shot round there and sure enough -- there's me package ..🤬 regular posty must be on holiday - got a *rick as a cover/relief ...
I'm amazed he even found this place .. 's half a mile down a dirt track - un-signposted
I'd run out of these and need a dozen or so ...
some sellers on Ebay charging four quid for two :oops: ....
ten quid for a bag of 50 seemed pretty good ...
was about the same as I was paying for 'em fifteen years ago :giggle::cool:

not something I've ever had a play about with Dan ... was a mega expensive hobby when I was young  ....... and no quips about valve receivers (assuming many on here have ever even heard of valves, of course) :ROFLMAO:

These things.

I knew what I needed to order but didn't know what they were called but fortunately they were the first thing that popped up on Google.

The new truck has side v raves, so no idea why they were never fitted. Everything has to be either strapped over the Ali sides or fed through the gap to get to underside of them. Prity time consuming strapping stuff down and not the best method.

They do kits to remote control cetops. On off only no proportional. But should be fine with a winch

That’s what I meant - have done a hydraulic winch (well, my auto electrician did with a cheap kit from eBay!) and also set up a radio control on a pto chipper (which was a more costly affair but not too difficult). As said, not proportional though.

Yeah I did an ancient willibald shredder for someone. All the ce tops where there but the original remote setup had been destroyed. Relatively painless to wire in a kit. Just choose how you want the buttons to work and the number of controls.

pretty cool forging that .. no way could you compete fabricating them for sure -- not cheap (considering the quantities they must make), but not dear either
