same issue with that Arboga ... Spincheck/whatever'd cost you more than the drill

found this today in the usual place ... nice piece of work .. guessing someone has knocked it up and a tidy job it is too ... only issue is the V tooling ... the second that goes in there it's gonna need full light guarding

a few more holes in the columns'd be handy too ... wouldn't want to pay for the SHS though ... nice design, though some more distance across the beam gap'd've been handy .... don't think he's likely to see the £8k asking

The only motors on it is the spindle motor and suds pump, not sure if I'll use suds pump as it's just home use so a few tins of cutNtap will probably do.

squeezy (fairy liquid) bottle, or pump up sprayer bottle with a hose and tap, like I use on my mag drill broaching
what size is the spindle drive motor Mike? reckon a VFD'd be your easiest way to go

She's just a toot of a motor on the spindle. 1.5 hp. About 1.1kw. I think it is a Morse taper no.3 but would struggle with the bigger drills

can you open up the terminal box on the motor and show me the connections Mike ... that might not suit a VFD .. needs 6 poles in the terminal box from memory and have to reconfigure them to run parallel instead of series (if its star/delta wound, which are usually plated up as 220/440V) Newmans are just outside Bristol ... been to their place once.

can't recall who was asking about these the other day ... think it was Stu @Left hooker .... tripped over this today, looking for summat else .. 's what we used to fit on the augers we repaired for the polecat customer (who incidentally bought me ramp I was just wishing I'd kept) , in the Ineos thread
beauty of this shaped gum was that you had multiple choices of how to mount it

Drum got the treatment today ... after i'd spent a couple of hours clearing up from Pam's early morning strimming session, 'fore it warmed up ... and has it ever been warm today - 29C most of the day and no breeze

the old one got a different sort of treatment to make way for its successor

then thought I'd have a little look at the Haner's required mods

thought a full slash back might be a bit extreme ... and can always take a bit more off if needed

certainly closes a damned sight better than it did

and has a good grip now ... aided and abetted by the check valve+ it sat there a good ten minutes without letting go ('til I did)

then laid it out .... sat pretty flat

(a) to see how well it laid down and (b) to drill a couple of holes to help keep the pipes out of harm's way ------ could pick up a walnut ... if you could see it

and this pic ahs just reminded me ..... got a pin retainer to make

question for you guys with rubber tracks .... should I be concerned enough about this sort of split to have a spare pair sat?

can guarantee if it's gonna let go it'll be at the most inconvenient of moments? I'll get some better pix tomorrow .. thought this un'd show it well enough, but doesn't really .. I have very limited experience of these rubber 'bands'

we've also been shifting some of our stocks of firewood into the wood shed today, as it's as dry as it's gonna get sat in the crates and the weather forecast is not good for tomorrow - or Sunday, which is worse so that occupied a couple of hours, 'til we'd both had enough of melting and called it a day. Had cooled down (a little) after tea though, so I went and finished emptying the said crates ..
got a way to go yet though ... got another four bags, that I'll have to fetch down with the 'Drema

and a.n.other four big cage pallets, but can't see all of it going in there ... then it'll be time to get some more in for splitting up ... two years since the last session

finished the day off with yet another barrow puncture .. second in a fortnight and haven't been around anything spikey that we can think of ... barrow wheels seem to magnetically attract thorns ... only saving grace is they're an easy tyre to strip off

oh and I've got an 'appointment' tomorrow with the guy with the drill, to go take a look and unless it's a dog, fetch it home

Druid, I have a couple of 801.5 tracks I took off my machine last year as I got offered some good ones off a machine someone was breaking.

I don’t need to keep two spares so if you just want something to have as a ‘get out of the s**t’ standby I’d be happy to let one go free of charge to a good home. There’s virtually no tread left on it but it’s till all in one piece.

yeh I have and a couple of air chisels .. didn't take me more than 3 minutes to got round it ... didn't warrant getting anything more tech than a hammer and chisel out -- "knife through butter" with a good sharp cold chisel

I'm in lust ..... IMHDO this is amazingly cheap - the Grinnal kit would've cost that to say nothing of the 'Rocket 3' to start with ..... needs to be garaged though

forgot to say last night .. I cooked one of me Ferrex grinders on those side plates on the Haner .. they're bloody hard ... was the first one I bought though and has had some use ... no dramas - it just stopped and now has summat rattling about inside .. not gonna break the body warranty seal to see what .. with a 3 yr warranty they'll just be getting it back ... I'm amazed it's done as well as it has ... haven't plugged a 5" in since buying it circa 15 months ago

Yes, the same grabs that I paid £700+feed&vat just sold for £200+ at euroauction today!

No idea if the general hammer price was down for this sale but could well be a sign of tightening of purse strings?

Of all your toys druid have you not got a recip saw to run round that barrel???

Or a Plasma cutter. I did think the same initially, but thin tin is easy bashed through, sometimes quicker than it takes to set up a power tool.
It's sometimes good to work with your hands and basic tools, I lose about 50mm off my waist in Summer compared to Winter.
