well been threatening all afternoon/evening ...
had about 5 minutes of big random splodges about 7pm and other than that it passed us by :giggle:
absolutely nadgered ..
three hourish long sessions with Clara 'playing' kiddy tennis' on the lawn, through the afternoon ...
I get it back to her, she sends it back in any direction - I don't do running any more - normally :oops:
along with keeping Harper amused and all of Clara's other 'demands' it's been a full on day in all.

been a busy week as usual with them ..
went into town yesterday afternoon to get extra supplies to cater for their tastes and called into Listers in town to see what they had in the way of 1/4 fittings for the check valve juggle ...
absolutely bloody useless ..
remember now why I just don't use them, aside from ridiculous prices, they've never got what I want. :(

went to look at a house in town with Vicki and Chris, Thursday afternoon and drop the kids with them. ..
nice location, shame the house had been neglected and way over optimistic asking for the state of it ..
went for a second viewing with them this morning to a.n.other - much better and gave me the time to slip out to Raglan afterwards, having rung them first thing to see what they had in stock - 90% of what I wanted and should enable me to get said check where I want it to end up ... :giggle:
when I get the chance to play with it ....
rest'll be in in the week and can pick 'em up when I go get some hose tails made up. (y)

kids have both been manic this evening ... Harper would not go down, 'til half eight gone  and you'd swear Clara was on speed ..:ROFLMAO:
Granny started 'owl hunting' as an evening entertainment for the kids, when ever they're here to stay ...
which is fine when it gets dark early.
Of course' Clara wanted to go 'owl hunting' this evening too ...
was gone half ten by the time we'd trolled up the drive, gotten bombarded by bats, didn't hear a murmur out of any owls and found a big toad sat in the middle of the black top ..:giggle:
picked it up for her to see (and touch) hoping to allay her aversion to 'em and damned if the little sod didn't pee all over my hand ...
She thought it was hysterical ... :censored:
never had a toad do that before and handled loads of 'em here ..
they're everywhere at certain times of the year, from thumbnail size to full handfuls. This un was a big lad and we were pretty close to a tap up at the horse barn, fortunately (y)

pretty well sums it up ....... I was pushing Harper up and down the drive, in her pushchair at 02.30 this morning, in the pitch black-no moon, in a vain attempt to get her to sleep ... slept from 20.30-ish 'til 01.30 ... then she was ready for the next round ... the pushchair usually works fine - not last night ... we're both on screen saver today, after a 05.30 start from them both  ... little un's spark out - in her pushchair  and I've worn Clara out with yet more tennis, for nigh on two hours :) .. thank God we'll be giving 'em back later :giggle:

will get it back on Lil' Jake tomorrow after me hamster juice session, in the morning, to suss some tail lengths, ready for a.n.other visit to Raglan to get 'em made up

Cheers @V8Druid but mine are all present & correct so it’d appear I kept the best one! In fairness it was the best outcome for all parties as I’d have unlikely noticed & you have the expertise to diagnose & overcome whilst enabling you to show off your skills once again on this platform! 😉🤣🤣🤣

morning to meself this morning :giggle: .. no kids, no Pam-out walking and lunching with one of her mates :giggle::giggle:
chucked the Haner back on Lil' Jake and sussed some pipe lengths, stuck a trailer on the Kia and headed for Raglan.
Why trailer you ask ?
WP_20230614_15_52_31_Pro.jpg

new burning bin required .. old one has had its last fire the other night and as they offered me three drums was rude to say no. :giggle: ... and the one's got about 4" of cherry in the bottom
then it was time to wrestle some pipes onto the Haner .... could've done with Clara sized hands to get the banjo-ed hose onto the check valve port ... must've taken me a good twenty minutes to suss getting it in the right position to get it started with only finger tips to turn the bolt ... the compact 90 on the other hose was a lot easier.
got there in the end and hung it back onto Lil' Jake for an all position suss to make sure I'd not cocked up with the lengths.

edges close ok , but those bits need to come off to get the edges gripping properly
WP_20230614_17_47_25_Pro.jpg

now't that a 5" won't sort
had a bit of a play about with some templates after tea, for a few additions ..

will fine tune these once I've had the 5" to those excess bits ... but they're damned near what they need to be (y);):)

I had also intended to go view and hopefully pick up a Happy birthday to me jobbie, :giggle: that I've been trying to arrange to get to see (locally) for nigh on two weeks.
1686846470424.png

Had finally gotten the guy to commit to a time/morning to see it and a time he'd be there ... was just about to leave and he rang to say - sorry, he'd just had a call and he was going to have to cancel :(

never seen one quite like this before and it ain't dear ...
being Ajax, it'll be solid and it's supposed to be a #3 MT too
needs a solid bench to bolt down to - which I have two of :giggle: and a 3ph supply - one off-check (y) .... or a.n.other VFD ;)

hoping to get a confirmation for a tomorrow job, later -- or better still - Saturday morning -- Pam's having her hair done Saturday:);) so might even get it in under the radar :giggle: .. 'til she eventually spots summat new bolted to a bench
" Nah, that's always been there - you just haven't noticed it before " :ROFLMAO:

Quite a handy looking bit of kit to have on the bench.
I've picked up my own little drill machine for the home workshop. Have you heard of q&s?

Qualters & Smith make good gear Mike ... best known for donkey saws ... nice looking little table radial ..... ever heard of Arboga ... there's a lovely one on FB MP ATM ... if I had a shed (yeh I know) - I'd be very tempted .. looks like a #5 MT ... have had quite a few Arboga drills over the years....quality gear from Sweden IIRC

It's a really small radial arm drill, I just need to see if I can stick a 240v motor on the top of it.
might be cheaper to buy a VFD ..... will also give you infinitely variable speed control too
is it power rise & fall to the column too? would need two if that's the case ... or spend on a full inverter set up
