even with the banjos in as far as they'll go (without room for lock nuts and dowtys) it's too long by circa 4mm Stu
Having pondered it last night, what I need now is either some swept 30 or 45 M/F elbows to turn the check downwards some more. Going to take it back out and have it with me when I go back to Raglan for the hose tails
hopefully there'll be sufficient movement in the unions to cope, especially with a couple more swept,s in there
Druid, and if that pin had fallen out and twisted the grab most manufacturers would say “Sorry but you have messed about with it, warranty is void”..been a busy day with a lorra 'can you justs' ... mowed all the grass yet again - still growing well .. our little 'dry weather' spring is back for the first time this year ... only appears after it's been dry for a prolonged period of time.

Only way I was going to get it sorted was get the ram out ... which eventually ended up with me taking half the grab apart to get the pins out

not got a huge stock of 1/4" fittings .. don't do much with 1/4" .. so had to work with what I had (and get more if needed) ... tried a few configurations

had to use a tee and blank the one branch eventually - short of a fitting - but it was lining up nicely

the tab holding the cylinder base pin is a nightmare to get out/back in - one position only will it move and clear everything else -once you've removed the shell- it's shaped around the shell pivot boss ..

'bout the only unions I'm going to get in there are banjos ... will get some shorty tails made up and reckon the two long-ish 1/4" hoses I have should be about right
might take the ram back out and take it with me to Fast fluids and see if Marty has any better suggestions/alternate fittings, or even see how he is at making up some steels, but they'd need to be small.

Thanks for the warning @V8Druid but you’re speaking double Dutch to me, I think I mentioned that checking the oil & water levels is about the extent of my mechanical knowledge. Any chance of a picture or a sketch of what I’m looking for?made me wonder if that was why it was in there in the first place ... couldn't be arsed to put it back through the factory for retro fit .. crazy I know .... but big outfits do operate that way
interestingly the outer end holes are an interference fit on the pins, with the starter holes a nice clearance fit ... needs a good tap to shift out of the interference holes, then it's a pull out with fingers
David @Tintan28 ... have a damned good look over yours ... see if there's anything missing on yours too .. better to sort, pre-event, than after, if there is ?
Get what you're saying - badge engineered - but TBF, I have to say - it's more than reasonably made Aiden ... probably a lot higher spec. than their own badged tish ... the Germans'd not be happy with tish with their name on itThose little tabs spread as well an cause the pin to rotate... Worth put a weld on them also.

make sure you have a tab on every pin David @Tintan28 or they can escape/work their way out with disastrous results

The floor is 18mm pheolenic ply. I got a few sheets off ebay and they haven't lasted 5 years on any of my trailers. Think Ill buy the really expensive stuff next time.
