well that's spoilt my Sunday afternoon
Pam wandered down the letter box earlier, see if there was anything in it ...
been looking for weeks to try and find out what the council tax's gone up by in Monmouthshire? ....
not been able to find it anywhere on line - as usual - like to keep it to them selves, 'til the bills go out

you guessed what was in the box ...
+6.7% FFS .. 🤬🤬
£3264.12 PA .... no wonder we've not been able to find it anywhere ... they'll have had to apply for that level of increase - (over 5%)
get so little back for it -

random bin collection fortnightly (provided we transport it to the top of the drive - and bring it back when they don't turn up)
no street lighting,
no road sweeping (roads are a bloody mess round here),
no road maintenance (have 4" deep potholes all the way up here, whichever route you choose),
Plod will NEVER attend here (unless you tell 'em you'll shoot 'em - quick enough then)
150 odd quid precept for the local com. council -- the wrong one - we ain't in the one we've been charged for o_Oo_O

what have I missed?? whatever it is we won't get it
Taking the ****ing piss

and all of Chairman Drakeford's crap ideas/purchases/pocket filling schemes ....
see a hell of a fuss yesterday about Caeeerdifff airport and what it's cost the taxpayer in Wales, aside from the initial 50+M quid they spent on buying it ..
have ploughed another £25-30 mil into it since, it never makes any profit and simply lurches from one crisis to the next. latest one may well close it.
Talking yesterday about 'praps breaking even soon :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: although they're £80m down and rising
........ and a bitch of a place to get to

It's a shame too as it could've been so much better. Always liked flying from there no 15 min walks to get to a gate or through terminal

two churchings in one day  .....

funeral this morning of the father of my best friend's wife - one who got killed a while back, in a glider accident, practising an emergency landing.
'least it stopped lashing down just before eleven this morning, in time to get 'unloaded' and into the cemetery chapel.
Buried on top of his son, who 'dry drowned', caving with me mate and his wife 30 odd years ago :(
was nice to see Angie and all of her sisters (5), who I also know well, even if the cause was, what it was

then Clara's Easter service in the local devil dodgers' club house ...

finally emptied this yesterday, aside from a few odd bits of sleeper (that bloody stink in the Morso) ... hopefully won't need to dig out too many more blocks I have under cover, elsewhere .... hoping for a better April :) than March's been :(

Yeah, they are meant to be able to tow NATO ring hitches but are a bit if a pointless compromise IMO.

be off on the first decent speed hump .... seen the pissy split pin keeping it closed -- joke .. not sure a NATO eye would pass over a 50mm ball TBH ... will have a measure tomorrow .. got a couple here ;) and the coupling hooks to fit 'em (y)

The splitpin in these is the same as the safety pin in a quick hitch.
It only serves to keep the latch in place and should never be load bearing.

Imagine the damage when the door is slammed shut on the open jaw!

I think they use them in America. But a lot of their towing equipment seems a bit dodgy.

had five days in Longleat centerparks again last week -- six adults, five kids from 12mths to seven years ... two hutches, one to contain Josh, his mrs and his three screamers.
Clara and Harper are little angels in comparison and in ours.
as said B4 .. not cheap, but quality ... and zero traffic, apart from the 20 min. land-train service to ferry you about :giggle::cool:
good time had by all ..
new chariot performed nicely, apart from the magical mystery tour from the sat nav on the last 5 mile stretch ...
I WILL be ignoring it in future, when I KNOW it's ****ed up.

M4 dire in both directions at the Thornbury - M32 stretch ..... I really can't recall a time when that wasn't dug up ... an' I can go back to 1976 with that memory bank.
there early Monday and late Friday - sod all happening either day 🤬 but traffic carnage🤬🤬

have had really bad sinus issues since the flu at Crimbo time .... got 20 miles from home and all cleared, nostrils opened and I could breathe again -- great all week, 'til i got back to Raglan and bang .. bunged up like before. Very annoying.
This area has always been known for catarrh issues, but this was so obvious, it was unreal. Pam has her bark back (now't all week) and Vicki's the same - pounding sinus head ache - asleep on our settee ATM, whilst we have the little un's for a couple of hours.
Living somewhere else has certain attractions when you get this sort crap.

to compound the breathing problems, we got back to a dry and well grown green thing .... which got sorted yesterday and ..
WP_20230408_14_56_12_Pro.jpg

which really aided my swollen closed nostrils :(
WP_20230408_16_57_40_Pro.jpg

was grateful that the bank was still too damp for the Dane's herring bones and just did the usual three strips with the Countax for now  ....
trouble is there's so much tree pollen sat in the grass ATM ...
grass doesn't seem to affect me ...
's what's in it that gets to me
today has been an 'easier' day .... 'til little 'uns arrived

Never been to centre parks but I can’t imagine it has anything to compete with the view in the pictures above.
Cheers @Steve ... 's one of the reasons I bought the place .. that and the 3/4 mile private access drive down to it :)
now if we had a heated, covered swimming pool, center park's 32C tropical dome and 30C pool would not hold the same appeal  ...
I don't swim, but floating about in theirs with a 'noodle' float tucked under me arm pits does my old body the world of good :giggle:(y)

spent nigh on seven years looking for this place and looked at some sh1t in the process - great house-crap access - great access-tip of a house - great house-great access - pig/chicken farm next door .. you get the idea .. only downside here was no outbuildings :( and have had to create a big enough flat bit to accommodate a decent sized shed ... when I ever get 'round to sorting it (but there are reasons why it ain't happened yet) ....

and the sunsets can be awesome :giggle:

FFS drema and polytunnel...crack on man 😎
would need a bigger poly than 6m x 3m ..... I have considered it and have the ideal spot .... biggest issue here is water supply ... our spring does a gallon a minute 60/24/7/365 ... might take a while to fill a decent size pool :oops:
