was a bit of an interrupted night, last night ... 4 am Pam's waking me up -- " someone's just come over the cattle grid and sure I can see torches up at the barn " aye so could I .... dragged me togs on in the dark - didn't want to switch any lights on .. grabbed me pick handle and jumped in the Golf .... not the quietest thing to go charging up there with and they'd ferked orf, by the time I got there .... no signs of damage to the barn's lock and all three donkey boxes still parked there ... had a mooch about but they were long gone ... might have to sleep with a very cocked ear tonight ;) ..... the thievin' bas***ds are about the area ATM
'nother quad gone 'bout half ten this evening ..... bloody farmers will leave the keys in the damned things on their yards .... couple of fields over from us :(:( - 1/2 mile 'praps ... too close anyway 🤬

well I haven't managed to get hold of Vicki's car yet to give it a service and fit its new discs and pads yet ... so no report on the caliper wind back set yet Dave ... half term next week, so'll hopefully have it at some point ...
weather's been dry, sunny and warm-ish/cold wind on off .. Saturday was beautiful and still .. had me day planned 'til Pam decided it would be the ideal day to prune all the bloody fruit trees :( ...several hours and four bin-fuls later ......
WP_20230205_13_21_54_Pro.jpg
in need of a new drum .. soon :(
that was the end of my plans for the day .... Sunday was a white start and a bitter Easterly, which totally negated any warmth from the sun .. not exactly conducive to developing any enthusiasm, with yesterday pretty much the same - and hamster juice day - so morning shot :(
this morning was an even whiter start and a 'kiddy day' .... car took some clearing off to take Clara to school, even after it'd been running for a quarter of an hour ... the full moon was still well up at half seven

lovely day again apart from the bloody keen wind ...... hoping for a stiller day tomorrow, get a few bits done.

genuine Harting, (made in China!!), which from RS are :oops:
1675878276914.png

and was buggered if I was gonna pay twice what the ying tong plugs and sockets cost, so been keeping an eye open ;) since acquiring the Ying Tong 16 way + earth in December '21 for the princely sum of £23.50 :giggle: -- identical copy (almost certainly Harting's product with a different name cast in)
1675881763556.png

gone up a bit since then and Harting don't supply the gland with theirs either

bloke on ebay was for these was :giggle::giggle:
1675878500557.png

so bought the both of 'em that he had:giggle:

@Monkeybusiness if you want a cover for a 16 way that I sent you the link for a while back, for your project .... there're these without tethers and another 4 quid, but still very cheap and keeps the weather out of your connectors

I've yet to find anyone doing the other half's covers, apart from RS who're 'kin dear for what they are :mad: ... and no tethers
1675878762249.png

I've got one on the 'Drema's socket, on the dipper

but damned if I'm paying £17.57 for one for me new Deutz hyd pack's dash socket ... it'll live in the dry when not in use/connected

have wanted some of these, particularly for my VA-r's plug for sooooome time ... and had the second for the wander lead on the hyd. pack

guaranteed waterproof (y):giggle:
damned if I was disconnecting all the wiring to get the tether onto the leads ... got cable tied on ;)

been yet another lovely day here apart from the bitter S. Easterly - again ... need to keep your ears covered for sure ... boss has had me 'gardening' - AGAIN! and burnt three binfuls ...... did get an hour on me back under the P38 working out HTF to get me axle sensors off, but was like an icicle when I slid out, after getting the full blast from the wind, so called time on that one for a warmer/stiller day ... but did get a suss on it finally ... need to use it

you only gave me the deposit for it🤔 still waiting for the final payment😂😂😂
the way I see it if a make a few quid and move it on, its better than sitting on something waiting for a pot of gold that may never turn up🤔

absolutely Mog .... can sit a long time waiting to make big profits. .... any profit is a plus

Used to know a bloke (we all called him Plus VAT - no matter what 'cash' deal you'd have with him it was always +VAT - no one ever knew if he actually gave it to 'em or not ??? ) - anyway ... he had some stuff sat about his yard .. was with him one day, opened a shed and there is a Daimler double six, sat rotting ... said to him "Jesus Mike, you still got that" - I was at the auction, chatting to him, the day he bought it, years earlier, for way over the odds - "you'll have dropped a stack on that mate" .. " Nah - not 'til I sell it I ain't " :oops:o_O:censored::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: ... and that was his attitude with everything ....
His old man and brother had a very successful haulage biz and used to fund him .......... to keep him out of their hair ... nice enough guy, just clueless

well we ain't had any damp stuff for a while .... everything's pretty dry-ish here so ... as said elsewhere, I was tempted to 'hit it'
got this out and pulled apart for a good clean ... had done it end of last season ... and then gave it one more late cut afterwards, so needed a 'go over' in the deck area ... always cuts so much better on a first cut if the deck is devoid of crud (y)
WP_20230212_14_11_57_Pro.jpg

and in the meantime the big yellerfing appeared .... so once it was back together it seemed silly not to
WP_20230212_15_46_08_Pro.jpg

before it really started to get going and the task became a major haircut ..... was even raising dust going over the molehills I'd spread out
gave the side of the drive the usual two stripes, as doing it with the Dane's 5ft cut tends to scalp the centre of what is a bit bulgy/crowned
WP_20230212_15_25_09_Pro.jpg

before dumping what turned out to be a boxful, that was causing wheelies when lifted off the deck ... full and seriously heavy :giggle:
WP_20230212_15_18_32_Pro.jpg

'fore barrowing it down to the back of the hedge line, that gave me a good slap in the face the other day, when I was wrestling it down flat  .. three very full barrows there
the bank's for another day ... still a bit damp for the Dane's herring bones ... see how it is Wednesday afternoon ... 'sposed to rain a bit here Thursday :(
a very early start to the 'green season :(

Clara approved of a nice short lawn this afters, for football ... her after school Monday minder was sick, so had to collect her from school and keep her entertained .... looks like it might be another full week's after school minding on top of the usual three mornings and afternoons  ..... week shot to sh*t again :censored:

Clara been called back to the hospital this evening .... cultures have shown up Strep A and they want to give her an I.V. antibiotic for an hour or two, with a course to bring home ... highly contagious it would seem. Explains a lot with her behaviour these last couple of weeks :( and a few things she's been complaining of ..... 'least they're on the ball with this, fair play (y)

Wishing a speedy recovery. Nothing worse than feeling helpless with a sickly kid!!
