8" wheels ... carry plenty of spares and keep yer speed down .... prolonged fast running'll kill them PDQ ... 4 or 6 ply Stu?
Haven't had a look guy I bought it from was clearing out his grandads garage so it had bee dry stored when not in use and he had a tyre place fit new valves as were leaking

the planet getting warmer and so changing the environment is nothing new
I'd reword that to: "climate change is normal"
Debating if/how much humans contribute is valid, but should not be assumed.

in 1900, the world population was 2 Billion
in 1950, the world population was 2.5 Billion
in 2022, the world population is 8 Billion

If humans are responsible for a significant part of global warming, it's because there are too many people.

how old are the tyres Stu? ... what're they like ... even brand new, sustained speed'll kill 'em PDQ .... they get bloody hot ... if you need to change 'em, go for the 6 ply .. worth the extra cost

if you can lay your hands on a spare it'd be as well .... and make it a steady run ..... got a fair distance to cover from Mount Hawke
Cruise control will be set at 50mph that's for sure and regular breaks as have dogs with us
Am contemplating putting some water in them for cooling 🤔

If you have them, the chances are you won't need them (hopefully 🤞) .... but can guarantee that without them you will :(
don't forget a suitable wheel brace and try the nuts before you leave

Nipped them up as were off by seller for new valves fitted to rims
17mm in a ratchet will be all that's needed trailer is light so easy to prop over one side to sort if need

Those little tyres are crap - we have them on a traffic light trailer and they don’t last 5 mins unfortunately.

guess who came for early tea ?:giggle:
WP_20220724_15_28_38_Pro.jpg

bearing goodies .... first things first ... cuppa .. then unload
hour later thought we'd better get it off :giggle:
Paul kindly donated a few bits o' bar to the Druid stock pile and then we got lil' jake wound up, save him stretching out that gert Hiab for a couple of little bits for 6 toes
WP_20220724_15_47_37_Pro.jpg

the winch was a POP .. Paul picked the reel down and then attached the lump .... having gotten hold of most of it I said "how heavy is that Paul .. don't wanna end up on me nose, lying down here ? " ... ... blade down and was fine .. just ... having looked at the plate after Paul'd gone, can see why the blade was required at full stretch/height to get it off the back end of his truck
WP_20220724_15_52_42_Pro.jpg
bloody heavy for the little un'.
bit more of a natter and he was away, headed for Llantrisant, for the morning .....
WP_20220724_15_39_39_Pro.jpg
he'd trimmed a few trees on his way down the drive and had to stop to shift a few lumps out the way, on his way out
WP_20220724_15_43_54_Pro.jpg

and then he was gone ......
brought me a lump of tree on arrival, which got resized for the bin
WP_20220724_15_55_19_Pro.jpg

and I'll go take a look in the morning, see what else is laying about :ROFLMAO:

tidied up Rory's treasures and bagged the pipes on the reel ... keep the wasser out and turned the winch motor's ports downwards too
WP_20220724_16_09_08_Pro.jpg

been a tad damp here on/off, most of the day, but pleasantly warm, even with the S Easterly blowing well, 's been a warm breeze ... unlike yesterday's sharp one.

As it was dry I dug out some new return line for the Deutz and persuaded that into spot, for connecting up
WP_20220724_17_08_12_Pro.jpg

and finished just as it came down again ....

Pam'd been pressure washing end of last week and the lance handle'd split, so I'd had a scrat about for all the various ones and bits I had ...
ended up putting my big one on, off my diesel unit to get her going again and in the process of searching out bits, discovered one'd succumbed to either age, misfortune or both ... 'twere bollo-ed anyway - in two pieces ...
so as they were still sat in me tool box and it was still wet, had a look at sorting it

not the greatest of design and it'd died at the weakest point ... piece of 1/2" steel tube, threaded to 1/4"BSP had snapped in the valve ... filed it down to a square end and put a 10mm drill into it to get a clean centre, 'fore going for a 10.7 tapping size ...
followed by one of our old friends
WP_20220724_17_59_18_Pro.jpg

... worth a try and damned if it didn't behave

don't get luck like that very often ... especially with thread paste/cement on it .... but then there wasn't a lot left to put up a fight.
cut the heat shield back on the handle an inch or so, ran a new 1/4" BSP thread down the end of its core and went together sweet as
WP_20220724_18_17_34_Pro.jpg

good as new .... well close ....

WP_20220724_18_17_25_Pro.jpg

God knows where the tap handle's gone ... probably lurking in a box corner somewhere or under summat? only going to be used cold so I'll bang a std ally one on it ... bound to have one in me tap stock Lin Bin

and suddenly 'twere half six and I was starving ... trouble with no tea bell ... lose track of time :unsure:

sadly true MB .... 's why I've been making 'noises' to Stu about 'em ... now't worse than stuck on a hard shoulder with a blow out ... and no spare :(
realistically 40-ish mph is more than enough for 'em .... they're going round at a hell of a rate at that speed, let alone any more

relocated Rory's spoils to his accumulating pile first off, out the way.. Gawd knows how long they'll be here ... Lil' Jake does not like that magnet a lot :ROFLMAO:

then turned my attentions to summat I've been trying to get around to for ages .... ought to have mowed the grass, but kept spitting rain every ten minutes.
persuaded the 16 way plug case onto the end of me roll of flexi ...
WP_20220725_15_29_48_Pro.jpg

then sussed the umbilical length and lopped a piece off the roll, to length
WP_20220725_15_38_28_Pro.jpg

WP_20220725_17_20_35_Pro.jpg

that's the original 'naked' loom and had to add some additional cables in for the extras/spares ... better now than a struggle at a later date ... have a few ideas for some of them and bound to want more circuits  nearly all of those are taken up with the motor's loom and controls ...
17 cores took some wrestling into the flexi and an additional pair of hands would've made life so much easier ... had to tie me 'snake' to the dumper in the end .... but got 'em in there ..... and yes it is long ... 's original ... see no point in shortening it down .... might be handy ;) .. have all the controls on a wander lead  , particularly any additionals:giggle:
WP_20220725_19_44_56_Pro.jpg

chucked it all under the tank for the night, when I realised it was 7.45 and explained why I was hungry ...

just left it all 'long tails' on the extras for now and'll route 'em elsewhere tomorrow
WP_20220725_19_45_13_Pro.jpg

and 'fore anyone asks, they all have cable ident. sleeves on
plug wrestling next  .. at least there's a decent amount of space in the body, for a bit of spare length

tea went down a treat:giggle:

😁
