More like had been had by pirtek. Mate of mine has just bought a full on hydraulic hose making system after getting stitched up by them.
The only people shafted more than pirtek customers are those taking the franchises on

M16 hex socket in the cap and man did I need the 3/4 drive tee bar - amazingly - that's a long way from the tank on a neck with a flexi hose between them both ... but it surrendered :giggle: .. didn't take a lot to get it up to the top of the sight glass

puts the light just the operator side of centre line for best illumination ... was on the wall behind and was a bit of a PITA
whilst I had the lil saw out i also cut a few cap plates for the BIL's gate posts and managed to drop the bow on the tip of me right thumb ... which made my eyes water a bit ... and damn me if I didn't smack it again first thing this morning ... :cry:o_O:censored:

Pam wanted to get off out with Vicki at eleven, so wanted an early treatment start, so set me alarm last night ... should've put me glasses on .. what I thought was 08.00 turned out to be 06.00, after I'd 'hauled arse', made the cuppas and then looked at the time  ... needless to say Pam got away on time and I went and got going on the gate job

and stood beside the biz end in case a. n. other belt decided to let go ..... leg has only just recovered to a normal colour after the the last lucky escape o_O:(... never been 'nervous' using the belt before, but .. ... was some slap that belt gave me, when it let go.

Don't worry, once you become complacent again it'll give you another slap.

yeah, but is your new belt from the same batch as the one that failed?
(it was the glue that failed)
was a spare belt that came with the grinder when I stole it on ebay .... God knows how old it was ... looked ok, as always give 'em a good look over 'fore mounting 'em and have to go on the right way round.
what's on there now is from my usual suppliers, which I bought when I acquired the grinder. (y)

ffs - you got a pet rhinoceros? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
got the frames put together today ........well this afternoon .... spent best part of the morning on a rat hunt
Stood in the kitchen at quarter to three last night, washing down some pain killers, when something came past me in the corner of my eye .. thought that was either a bloody big mouse or a small rat ...
anyway couldn't find the ba**ard so went back to bed ...
up again at half six for some more and could hear summat in the utility, but couldn't decide from where  so pulled the place to bits ...
eventually spotted the sod under some units ...
way too far out of reach ...
by the time i'd gotten the front off he'd vanished ..
emptied all the cupboards and could see a tail hiding in the cat's bedding :LOL: in the one cupboard .....
went for a grab with a pair of water pump pliers I had to hand and missed and he shot behind the boiler ...
now i've got you, I thought .....
'til I realised the cowboys who'd done the plumbing had left a hole under a waste pipe behind the washing machine, next to the boiler and he'd vanished in under the shower tray in the shower room next door .....

so made sure he has a limited exit route and put everything back together and refilled all the cupboards ...
that knackered the morning ...
considering taking up a position in the kitchen tonight with the air rifle and see if I can bag the lil' ****er, when the house goes quiet ;) ...
he's gonna be in search of summat to scoff by midnight and is gonna have to show himself ...
I will be waiting :giggle:

anyway .. as said ..
this afternoon was a more gate time ......

first half of the doublers ... perfectly set up and stitched up .....
WP_20220524_14_18_25_Pro.jpg

if you want a perfect pair .... build #2 on top of #1 ;):giggle:
WP_20220524_14_42_52_Pro.jpg

and as I had #1 perfectly square, used it to jig the pedestrian ...
WP_20220524_15_06_42_Pro.jpg

and the half panel infiller ....
WP_20220524_16_09_00_Pro.jpg

all welded up and fettled a couple of hours later
WP_20220524_17_21_39_Pro.jpg

and ready to go away for the night
WP_20220524_17_22_46_Pro.jpg

posts next ... got 'em capped
WP_20220524_17_39_14_Pro.jpg

WP_20220524_18_03_11_Pro.jpg
WP_20220524_18_03_17_Pro.jpg

shaped up and away just in time for the bell
WP_20220524_18_42_49_Pro.jpg

... waste not want not .... those couple of the off cuts made a handy little .......
WP_20220524_18_39_59_Pro.jpg

nicely proportioned for clamping up with :) (y)
time for some infill patterns tomorrow ;) ..... if it's dry  ...... looking a bit patchy ATM :(

Here's a tip, if you ever send stuff by Hermes don't book a collection. Just wait for your guy to turn up and he will take it as he gets paid regardless! They get paid per parcel too!

team squirrel reci-ing the strawberry beds this morning ..... no idea what he was scoffing .. they're all still green

couldn't believe the grass off the lawn Thursday .. only 4 days growth :(
WP_20220525_17_24_17_Pro.jpg

best part of two barrows dumped there for barrowing down to the grass dump at the bottom of the bank

Simon arrived this morning with a quick repair to get him out the tish ... top link spring mount off his Lambo .... clean in half ... job for some 29/9s after a deep vee to next to nothing
WP_20220528_12_52_21_Pro.jpg

a.n.other weaving pass on top of that and a lighter one inside
WP_20220528_13_08_38_Pro.jpg

he's not been back :giggle: .... used to be a few trucks running about here on springs I'd welded back together, over the years .. 29/9,s're awesome rods(y):love:

then got going on ..... the BIL's gates ..
WP_20220528_16_25_35_Pro.jpg

pedestrian side gate for starters, get me eye in :giggle:
WP_20220528_16_45_27_Pro.jpg

WP_20220528_17_14_23_Pro.jpg

and then the side infill panel ...

interspersed/interrupted by Pam with a
" I think there's summat under/behind the fridge freezer " :( ...
" can't be the bloody rat .... (a) it's rat proof, behind there & (b) he's trapped in the shower room " ....
Little sod's been in there now five days with no food or water and a couple of traps ...
not caught the lil' bas**rd yet, but he must be getting pretty ****ing thirsty :LOL: ...
he's hiding under the base of the toilet pan which is a big base, but bloody inaccessible ...
sooner or later he's gonna run out of steam ....
gave him a ramakin half full of honey the other night ....
with 6 x 500mgs of paracetomol crushed into it (rats don't fare well with it apparently):giggle:
some of it went ... so hopefully he's gonna be on his way out shortly ... not heard the lil' sod today so might have a ratch about in there in the morning with me flexi tool retriever and see what I can find/pull out

so anyway - fridge out .. nothing ... reckon it was just the condenser rattling meself - all back in and ... back to the bench .. an hour later

WP_20220528_17_41_33_Pro.jpg

WP_20220528_18_50_57_Pro.jpg
he only wants summat simple .... but a lot more solid than his present ones and a good 8" higher
might get on with the doubles tomorrow, but weather's not forecast to be up to much after lunch and have the kids coming for lunch too, so doubt that'll happen

WP_20220529_07_51_10_Pro.jpg

must've slimmed down on the starvation diet enough to get out ... not looked in the shower room yet but no noises last night
so assume it's him .... certainly a very slender 'racing rat' ... Pam called up the stairs at half seven to say she'd seen him and he made the mistake of trying to hide under the kitchen sofa ... pulled it out and I shot the fkr. :giggle::giggle:(y)
