.... doing battle with my 80 litre fuel tank. ..... that tank's a lump .... .... God knows how much crap is in the tank absolute cowboy !!!! .... either way it's gonna have to come out, to see just how much crud has accumulated in the tank, for starters

.... already have one sourced at 38 quid ..... but it doesn't stop there ... will need 8 quidsworth of new seal, plus two new supply/return pipes (which I've failed to find so far on the 'net) and'll almost certainly be LR/OE only and knowing them will be 60 quid each minimum ...... all because of one tosser's **** up/incompetence .......... plus all the grief .....

the inevitable occurred trying to remove the fuel lines this morning
... had to come off to get the ring nut undone ... and no way were those pipes going back up under the ol' girl ... way too past their sell buy dates for my liking .... be waiting for one to go pop with 3.5 bar coursing through 'em and seen a LOT of action ... I do have shinier ones too ...... so....... .... Britpart from Island 4x 4 in Kent .. best deal I can find and the only ones who listed everything I want.. I'll be 84 before I have to get under there again .......and past caring ... when I emptied 50 litres of motion lotion out of the damned thing this morning into jerry cans .... gauge claimed a couple of gallons at most ... so tha's fooked too BTLs ........ can't wait to dive in the shower in a minute or two ..... still haven't remembered WTF I've put it though ... so might have to be a Schultz gun jobbie, but better throttle it down a bit with a smaller nozzle and some pressure reduction ............. 'tain't gonna be this dry again for a few months ... and'll fill the waiting time for the bits to arrive .... plus I don't plan on seeing the bits hidden by that tank again, in a loooooong time
... in fairness to them .. at least they responded, which is more than can be said of the other three ... dispatched this morning ... spoke to the guy doing it ... might be here tomorrow, Wed.s latest ... trip to Antifriction tomorrow, for him to get a new bearing block .... but at least he can get the wheels in for machining tomorrow .......needless to say .... tea was some bit late tonight .... gonna be an early start .... would've been still waiting at crimbo, if I hadn't pursued it
and even harder getting everything back into place and re-connected ... the filler pipe was a complete nightmare ... and took a good hour and a half to get back together ... no room for hands or tools ..... and left a lot of my skin under there in various locations ... ran out of time tonight ... had to go to meeting at 18.00 ... Pam thought this was hilarious ....... and stood and watched her unwind it
...... and no smell of fuel either ...... could do with a wash ...... found him sleeping here now, on several occasions and at all hours. Getting older and dafter by the day. When the sun's out I can see why .... but not after sun down when I found him lying by me sand bag ... fast asleep 
. Do you need to bring in an apprentice for him to train up to take some of the workload.
LOL .... Squeak, his side-kick is awesome at mousing ... can go out and be back in in two minutes with a mouthful of mouse .... don't how he does it but he is just wickedly fast at finding 'emThis mouse problem you have there is obviously bigger than you realise if Sparty is so overworked he is having to sleep in his work place.
Alternatively have I got it wrong and he is a supremo mouser and has got it all under control, so can have a quick power nap on the job without any increase in mouse population occurring.

Sparts is just getting old I'm afraid ... he was either 15 or 16 this August...16 IIRC ... and going deaf, daft and his eye-sight is not what it was ... until a mouse appears in his field of vision ... then he's two again ... odd time of year for 'em? .... anyway, took the Rangey for a run into town, in search of some flea annihilating products and are both looking much better this evening and more themselves, after a damned good combing ... bloody things .... we treat them earlier in the year when the 'season' is in full swing, but must be the warmer weather again has revitalized the bar stewards ... or leaks anywhere Very happy Druid ...... glad i'm not going to have to repeat the exercise
trouble with gear oil is ..... the bloody smell of hypoid

I'd be favoring a much lighter oil TBH Alex, well scrubbed in if the carbon black is still on the plate ....... if it's a CR4 plate (bright, cold rolled) oil and kero mix very lightly applied with a rag - regularly ... as when it dries out it offers zero protection and does so fairly quickly tea leaf heaven other-wise
