Re holiday homes, it's a tough one.... the other issue is blow in's.

Personally it's a two part thing. Holiday homes should have a f**k off tax levy'd on them that can have bills for the upkeep of the property levy'd against them. I.e If the property is taxed at £10000 Per year and you spend £8000 on the upkeep (Grasscutting, Cleaning etc) then you pay £2000.... Quick way of pumping a lot of cash into the local economy..... the Rich will always desire a second property to have for there whims, the requirement is to tax at a threshold that prohibits people from buying up small 2/3 bedroom homes to play with..... they are needed for locals. Big houses might as well belong to the wealthy and be empty.

The second issue is harder.... personally I think there should be a Tax levy'd on people moving between county's. Notably the East to nicer spots paticularly to retire/be a f****ng nuisance.

Stick a Levy of say 4k a person for the first two years..... with the get out that if your parents where born in or within 50 miles of said county you are exempt would make a big difference.

Allow local authorities to set the rates/requirements..... sorts a lot of problems.

Is that second idea purely for people of retirement age as that would be one hell of a sting to the working age moving for work sake.
I always thought there should be a limit on the distance you can buy a house from your current work address to reduce commuting distance polotion and allow locals to buy local houses, but seeing as there is the great push for working from home that won't work.
Unfortunately the people who live and breathe the country side are going to be pushed out of it.
Already see it happening round here and lock down is making it worse. People wondering all over farm land thinking they can do what they like.
And the horsey community buying great swathes of land and having no idea how to maintain it

I'll give 'em a try Tuesday guys .... thank you ...... @Stubota86 PM-ed me earlier... is gonna try one local to him Tuesday and pick some up if they have them, then forward 'em to me in the mail :cool:(y)

lovely morning this morning ..... but 'kin cooler than it looks :(
WP_20210404_10_02_31_Pro.jpg

looks like the plum harvest is going to be pretty impressive again this year .... as long as this morning's frost didn't knacker 'em all ... was bloody white at 7.00am
WP_20210403_16_43_56_Pro.jpg

had a couple of hours this afters, painting the ends of the shed .... amazing how much the sun fades Bituminous .....

WP_20210404_17_31_35_Pro.jpg

sides next .... fabricator's friend job, they'll be, once I've cut under the eaves with a brush

yesterday was a different bit of fabrication ...... emphasis on fabric ..... Pam wanted to wash the covers on our bum rests and we knew that the non woven fabric innards was not in the best of shape .... so some new material'd been acquired in readiness and we set about some new creations ....

didn't get one of the finished product ... :(
will have to get some, but managed to get one chair's-worth completed ....
10m of fabric acquired and some serious 'nesting later from 'the king of nesting' and I'd gotten all the bits required lopped up .....
with some to spare (y):giggle::cool:
have had this 3 piece years ... it's so comfortable I won't part with it and not seen aaaanything we'd like to replace it with:unsure: .... spent a fortune recovering it a few years ago .... the fabric/material for that was more than a new suite would've been:oops: and was a lot of work ..... we just love it and can't find anything we'd rather have in its place. Solid ash and take the side squabs out, it'll easily seat two ppl in a chair ....
great for when there's lots of folks here ... they're like small sofas :giggle::giggle: ..... and the big un is great for stretching out on

so next sh1tty day is accounted for, nailing some more liners together ;)

had this little thing to bits the other day ..... was Pam's dad's and not been used in over ten years ...... stood in a corner of a shed, so thought sod it .. see about making it run ... was always a good little tool
WP_20210402_15_59_51_Pro.jpg

Strip, clean, new fuel lines and a good blast out with the air .... couldn't find the air filter cover so a bit of improvisation .....

WP_20210402_15_59_55_Pro.jpg

and the fuel cap had split ..... superglue failed miserably so a new one ordered with a few other bits ... couldn't find an air filter cover though :(
fuelled and primed ...... started third pull - after I'd realised the kill switch was set to off, after the second pull :unsure::LOL: ..... ran like a watch, hence new bits ordered ...

Got an Iseki hiding in the same shed corner ..... ought to give that some TLC too ...... that too was always a great weapon (y)

Would that be the same shed recently painted? Looks like a common garden spider painted tar/bitumen black. 😂 Maybe the cause of death? 🤔
