There is for trailers and cars........

but pickups and I'm sure landrovers are exempt from the heights
And most things....saw a hicap with a monster triaxle a while back...I gave up counting after 8 big round bales...plus he had one in the rear tray...👏...on......the M6 in Cumbria.

There is a road run starting off from my farm at the weekend as the steam rally is cancelled (I'm not going near it) and this turned up today. Hmmmmm
Room for one more on there at least. Turn them sideways and one in a box on the front links. Nice bunch of tractors though, you'll have to take some pics of them all as they turn up for us

Not going over this year as in isolation because of the wifes MS medication. Her's some from last year though.
you certainly get a good turnout. Hopefully back to normal for next year and you can enjoy it again.

Do you have the direct link to that.
As per usual finding official docs is a complete mare.

I am sure that the 4x4 you think is an off road vehicle will be a road vehicle that can go off road.

The off road they mean will be vehicles that only or mostly go off road.

But I want to actually find the regs as this does come up a lot.

There are regs to a point but i think you may also find tow ball height can be set by vehicle manufacturer. Hence for example vans are particularly low to allow for doors opening and a low loading height.

FOUND IT.

Page 39 onward.

We both could be right lol.
Rules for M1 & N1 are slightly different.

BIG list of conditions that must be complied with.
Cat N must be sub 2000kg MAM
Must have a diff lock
Clearance & Ramp / departure values must be in spec
30 degree climb

Cat N1 M1 25 degree climb if over 2000kg MAM
still needs diff lock & Clearance & Ramp / departure values in spec

Very interesting.

Thank you for that it has been on my list of stuff to check for a while.
As usual with the Gov its not clear cut.
How many 4x4 come with diff lock as standard?
Would they meet the angles & clearances from factory?

Most vans I have used they have been higher than most cars.

Just the ability to engage all wheels will see a commercial vehicle classified as off road

16" to centre of ball is the std build height for over run braked and unbraked trailers ... like yer average ifor ... hence some of the spacers that've been posted here recently .... NATO are a law unto them selves @Charlie on hitch heights

Yup, but it has stopped the daily phone calls asking to borrow a trailer. I usually say yes but they need to have a NATO hitch and 24V electrics
my answer was always a simple .... no .... we make and sell them, not lend them
