My mate in uk and his family got it couple of weeks ago and he was knocked out completely with it, they were all double jabbed ....anyhow he must fancy his chances now as he rang me yesterday saying he had booked a week in Austria skiing and did we want to meet them there flights were really cheap wtf .... looking at what going on in Austria I'm not suprised

Seeing as the antibody test is simple blood/ finger prick,result in couple days,wonder why we aren't going down that road of testing,rather than blanket booster regardless?

Two generalisations there, which are both wrong, Gra. A lot of jabbed are more cautious, which is why they had the jab. The unjabbed that I know don’t give a toss about COVID, and mostly aren’t greatly worried about catching it. Mind you, one just has so it’ll be interesting to see his take on it afterwards.

Interesting point this...was discussing with someone that knows a lot more than I do..the antibody tests are currently pretty pricey hence not been used widely..but yes they reckon a huge percentage of the UK now got antibodies as we opened up earlier etc etc...hence why we in a better position than some of eu...

There is a lot of it going around here at the moment. Most adults I know with it have had the jab. Nobody in my close circle (mid 40s with kids) has been particularly ill.
My elderly uncle (with dementia) died of it very early on - he caught it in hospital and it definitely killed him.
A fit and healthy friend of the family in his early 70s very nearly died of it and is currently on a ventilator.
It’s a lottery really. I think anyone with underlying health issues need to keep themselves as safe as possible, but I believe the ‘business as usual’ that society has largely reverted to is the right thing to do and should probably have happened a lot earlier.

Totally agree other than the booster - I’m not going to bother unless not having it affects day to day life (I only had the jabs so I could go on holiday!).

The trouble in general with all of it is those that are bothered are hyped beyond belief....

I'm not a fan of people anyway..... Courtesy dictates that in normal times you go the long way round a supermarket aisle rather than brushing past someone..... ATM the only dickheads currently brushing past or trying to get within 1' of others are the mask wearing hypochondriacs whom no doubt think that people like me should be rounded up and shot.

When I first decided I was going to "wait and see" what this shot in the arm was all about I was truly sat on the fence...... Six months or so on and I'm very confident of my decision....... I know many people who have been vax'd whom have then picked up the Coofid. many people who have suffered bad reactions to the Jab and the most interesting thing of all is many Vax'd that I know keep picking up colds and sickness...... why is beyond me, but it's noticeable.

I was exactly the same- IE not rush in to having the jab and see how it pans out- as you say almost a year down the line there isn't much that is convincing me to have it. My wife will lose her job in the NHS come April and I can't see any justification behind the mandate at all. Her vaccinated colleagues are still being off with COVID in one form or another- an many of them have also become amazingly complacent about their weekly testing routine too.

It also doesn't take untill April to get double jabbed- if the vaccinated within the NHS are that much concern isn't April leaving it a little late! Oh yes that's right they're happy to use them to cope with winter pressures- but once that wanes off come April it's on yer bike!

My other half is the same come April she either has to get vaccinated or lose the job working in a healthcare setting.. we are both not vaccinated I agree with JD as he says it was a wait and see what the vaccine does.. I’m glad we didn’t get it now as I’ve heard some horror story’s from friends and family that have had it.. some only first dose and completely bollocked them.. suppose everyone is different and has their own views and opinions on it but I have mine and I think I’ll be sticking to it.. country has competely went down the toilet might as well be a dictatorship now as there’s hardly any free choice.. what millions fought for in two world wars and subsequent conflicts we have lost at the the hands of our own government.. well so I think.
