The V2 factory at Mittelbau-Dora was certainly in a tunnel system driven into the side of a hill.
The tunnels were still sealed off (from being blasted at the end of the war) when I was there, but apparently have now been opened for access.

yep - same.
was on my own, on the Kawi and took me a while to get my head straight ... one of the things that struck me most was the silence there .. (virtually) no bird song - was a haunting experience, never forgotten :cry: - 35 years ago now!

Off to Budapest on Thursday, for a long weekend, anyone been or can recommend anything
yeh - lovely place -- was there in 1990 with my best mate, who was Hungarian, spoke the lingo and'd been there several times.
Been in the UK since his parents fled Hungary in the late '50s, when the Ruskies invaded in '56
Would've been 70 this year, if we hadn't had to box him up at 40 :cry::cry::cry: - Big C :cry::mad:

there's a surprisingly large Hungarian 'community' in Zooport @6feetdown - you might know Johnny Farkas or Rob Costeski ? my mates name was Al Kiraly, had a sister Andrea and a younger brother Tom .. not seen any of 'em for years
