Who's up for a forum motorbike trip to the Continent?

I would love to but…. am a bit lads-trips oversubscribed this year (including a proposed bike trip to the Alps in July). And am back there next week with the lads for a bit of snowboarding (having gone with the family for new year).

mate had a 1100 Harris Magnum with a Moriwaki Kwaka motor .. fairly similar to this ... road reg but red and white ... might have some pix somewhere as I owned it for a couple of months too

Rod was only 5'2" and his GF was tiny ...
she's on the pillion with the hump removed, sitting on a pair of throw over panniers ...
boring down the Autoroute de Soleil, heading for Bandol and the Bol D'Or 24 hr ...
guy passes him in summat even faster, pointing to his back wheel ..
so slowed and pulled onto the reserve ...
to find his back wheel had eaten into the back of the one pannier and distributed his GF's clothes down the autoroute - very little left ...
shopping trip when they got there was 'expensive', with a new pair of panniers featuring fairly high on the list of costs

No, the side car is for the gazebo, folding chairs and the barbecue.

The chaps will need creature comforts when ‘on location’ .

No composting loo though unless someone is volunteering to drive a camper van down

Just book to go Montenegro, anyone been. Looks like a nice place. Couldn't get direct flights to Slovenia, where I thought about going. Cheap direct flights with Ryan Air. £130 each return

Well I've got tickets booked for Iceland (the country) with my brother, in late may. Not very exciting but a start

Depends how close you want to get to the latest erupting volcano or jump on a machine and help hold back the lava flow

In the North there was motor bikes everywhere. Lots of German, all adventurer bikes. Signs everywhere bikers welcome.
They told me they could catch a train from Vienna to split with bike or car.

long time since I was last in Vienna on the Kawi ... 1990 IIRC

when I was a young teenager, parents put the car on a train in IIRC Altdorf ... was a hell of a tunnel through the alps ... entered in the rain came out into glorious sunshine - can't recall the name of the place, but it was pitch black for some time going through

This year's trip is Slovakia in June. Anyone been or knows much about the place. Hopefully it'll be similar to Czech Republic
