Way more expensive in France I'd wager.... as the cheese eating surrender monkeys tax everything so much! Brexit just an excuse for them to get the tax they add on otherwise.
Works exactly the same way when ordering something in Europe. Had a parcel delivered from Spain, value including shipping £225. Before being released by DHL it cost me another £55.12 in VAT and Customs duty. On top of that another £11 to DHL as a handling charge.

So obviously the British also use Brexit as an excuse to get their tax.

Its not overally complicated, you will need to be EORI registered, get EXS and T1 Documents. It seems like as long as it was made in Europe your fine tariff free.

Thanks for the reply.

So are you saying Kubota/Hitachi etc would be subject to a tariff when they enter Europe from U.K ?

Potentially yes , it’s still complicated and country’s seem to be randomly doing there own thing. The main wording required is manufactured in the eu. I don’t recall exporting anything japanese for a while 😥

Things will take a while to sort themselves out it is still early days and our so called friends in the EU are desperate to make things difficult its more than obvious as the cannot afford for another country to leave they already have a large black hole in their finances now due to us leaving their project, However I have good news as there are companies that are now seeing the light I won't mention names but several forward thinking companies including a large one that I deal with are locating large warehouses in the UK and shipping their goods directly into the UK this will not only save time but it will bypass the stupid beauracracy that is being delibrately caused at the moment, There are many companies that have just produced a CMR basically 3 sheets of paper with a very basic description of the delivery no other details They have never had to complete there paperwork with full details, value and commodity codes, For anyone involved in shipping WTO is not difficult and we use it everyday to get goods to and from all over the world without any problem.

@topkit can you name me one example where you feel that the EU is punishing us for leaving? Or are they just sticking to the agreement that Boris the 🤡 and his band of merry men signed without reading?

The stupid bureaucracy is exactly what the majority voted for when they choose to be a third country.

Actually and Unfortunately Mrs May and her anti Brexit sidekick Olli Robbins hashed up our leaving Boris has done the best that he can do of a bad job and got us out just about on time and thankfully before this Pandemic, We can now make our own way in the wide open world again and as the oldest trading nation we will do just fine which is exactly what worries the EU, If you were to ask most people WTO was the way to go I have shipped Imported and Exported lots of cargo and produce around the world using WTO for various companies without any problem, As I mentioned previously it is all about having your export paperwork in order- what is wrong with that! It is well known and has been well publicised that they would do their upmost to be difficult to anyone that wanted to leave their protectionist block as they do not want to loose the billions of pounds that they love to waste, Did you know that they spend in the region of 200.000.000 euros just on moving staff from Brussels to Strasberg every three weeks in each month just to keep the French happy. Look at the farce with vaccinations that is still going on. Not that I mind in the slightest, Since leaving I have noticed that we have a lot more British food produce in stores now and I have also noticed that it is the first to leave the shelves too, I like many go out of my way to support or Farmers and producers, As for being a third country you may wish us to be that but I think this country will flourish as trade builds and businesses see the opportunities that the UK has to offer.

I'm by no means knowledgeable on import export etc. But as a general rule you're always going to get businesses/people complain about change whichever way it affects them just because they can. There's also too many grants/handouts available in this country which are too easily obtained. I'm not saying that for some trade isn't more difficult/costly but i bet there's a lot keeping quiet about how well they are doing as well.

@topkit great piece you have written but you still haven’t provided any examples of why you feel that the UK is being punished for leaving!

Please read my post again! Nowhere did I say that I don’t wish for the UK to flourish. However by definition we are now a third country in the eyes of the EU. That has NOTHING to do what I want that is just a fact!

One of the first outburst and indeed punishment was given out during the vaccine debacle about 3 months ago now and they involved Northern Ireland and ourselves this was very quickly retracted within 24 hours as it quite obviously looked more like the third Reich had taken over. There have been other instances where their leader has already told us that there will be repercussions if we step out of line from their rules especially when encouraging business into the UK which really shows us that they are afraid of competition unless it is on their terms.
GazCro you have hit the nail on the head people have got very used to the very vague paperwork and lack of checks on goods and people moving around including those locked in containers. People don't like change when it suddenly happens quickly, But our friends in Europe have been very clever over the years with various rules and regs quietly coming into play that suits large businesses and often strangles the small ones with other more serious matters being pushed through in treaties.
Mr Torquewrench I hope you are imperial as well as metric ;) ! I wrote my piece when you called us a third country as I do not class us as a third country we are Great Britain I feel that we are looked at by several EU member states as being Little Britain that should be held in its place even though they enjoyed taking the money from one of the largest contributors to the scheme because as a small country we punch well above our weight.

Mama Merkel can go f**k herself. I will never forgive her for opening the floodgates to hundreds of thousands of hostile, fighting age young ‘refugees’ (they must have left the women and children behind!). I am glad we have left, now I hope our leaders have the balls to completely reform the immigration system.

Heated discussion shows how divided we still are on the subject of brexit!!
Third country should not be confused with third world country.
The reality is world politics are becoming very inward looking. Brexit and Trump was the start of a wave of nationalism. The EU is done, they just don’t realise it!! What saved the UK was not joining the euro money laundering project.
As for the EU punishing the Uk, the 24hr vaccine debacle has shot themselves in both feet. There are many international pharmaceutical companies that are now planning on taking manufacturing resources away from the EU as they are no longer seen as being trustworthy. Governments like big business, they take the payroll taxes off the employed and hand them over. The reality is the EU made decisions on what country would have the benefit of those taxes based upon politics. Times are changing.
