can't even get on site to look ATM .... unless yer name's Alex and you know the head of security .... he called by here afterwards to drop off some stuff he'd borrowed .... since taking on the military disposal contract they've quadrupled their site and is now sooooome walk around .. no live sales .. on line only :(
Our local auctioneer reckons he won’t go back to live auctions ever again. Admittedly he’s not as big as brightwells, but I think it’s a trend we will see from now on ?

Ticks a lot of health and safety boxes that’s for sure!! I’m all for going to view afew days before and bidding on my phone in between work, A handy timer would help say a ping 10 lots before your interested lot comes up..

Yes I've noticed things always seem to make there money since it's been online auctions 😯 there really aren't any auction bargins anymore.

Are bright Wells not letting anyone in at all? I know you can go for a walk round at euros, York machinery sale and watts

think Alex said appointment only to view .... can't just turn up/call by when passing .... their site expansion has been at the cost of their extensive car parking so doubt they'll be going live again any time soon either  ..... be interesting to see how their 'tat' ring fares ... misc hand tools and general crap that very often makes ludicrous amounts .... might be good for other things though ... will need to do yer homework on what's in there and not just 'trip over' interesting items as you wander about following the auctioneer in his 'popemobile'

Yes watts is like that it says on everything you can't drop in and you need to make a appointment but they never seem bothered if you drop in I suspect it's just so they can turn people away of its busy and making good for the website

The guy who runs our local place said exactly this, the prices things are making now are above what was achieved on a live sale day, so if he went back to old ways then the regular vendors would not be happy at all! And he has probably seen the light and doesn’t want the hassle of a live sale anymore. He can run the site with very few staff for a start!
The hustle and bustle of sale day has gone though, which I sort of liked, despite being an antisocial recluse. Those sale day bargains have gone now too I think. Have had some absolute steals out if there at times, but I think those days are gone...
I nearly picked up a very nice Belle mixer last month, but I was repeatedly outbid within the last minute, which just adds another ten minutes to the auction time for that lot! It’s not like a live sale where there’s a split second decision, or eBay for that matter... But I got pissed right of with this clown bidding at the last minute and the red mist descended 😡 and I bid way more than I really should have, thankfully I knew when to stop and he paid virtually new money for a used mixer with no guarantee it worked! Bloody ridiculous!

So a mate has ordered a new tb210 coming soon, he has a 300 hour used one on loan while they sort his out.

£14500 for new one with hitch and 3 buckets or £13500 for the 300+ hour one looking a bit tatty Rd the working end.

why is anyone buying used currently!
What dealer was that?
