That florida cab?
Yes, the zero models don't have a cab option. But for the kind of work it does for me I can live with that. Its more of a backup machine in my business or for those tighter jobs. To be honest my 8015 has done 500hrs in 6 years, so it doesn't get a huge amount of use and whatever I buy will most likely stay with me forever. But the 801 bless it is getting a little long in the tooth now and I might use it more if it was more reliable. I have a few jobs this year where I will need the 1.5t as the main machine. Usually its sat on a pile loading the dumper.
With used prices up it seems like a good time to chop it in for a shiny new one?

It'll probably be the best time to change as you say second hand can't get any better and tbh when things settle down i can see new going up slightly. Either way won't make a penny off it if you don't have it.

Sales territory's are designated by areas usually postcode's, it is frowned upon and bad practice to sell out of patch specifically as the dealer who needs to look after you wont be getting the sale and perhaps the selling dealer cannot manage your machine correctly if you have breakdowns. It also conflicts and causes dealer tensions, you sell one machine out of patch and they will pump two back to your customers.

If the dealer network is serious and not desperate they will shy away from it and often they will make sure they cover each other I'm afraid to say. Legally you can buy anywhere but also its the dealers right to price it how he wants to whom he wants.

Support your local dealer. If you get a good service from them its worth it. Also remember its the dealer that can choose the pricing, if you wanted the RRP you would be stuck.

The dealer may want more because of lead time issues, costs and overheads etc. London will generally be cheaper because there so much volume there. There is never a easy reply to it

I think we're getting the wrong end of the stick. The manufacturer will determine an area for a dealer. A good dealer selling a lot of machines will have a fair leverage on the manufacturer to buy off them cheaper, now if they were to sell out of area it wouldn't be good for neighbouring dealer if they can't buy in as cheap. Having said that i know of a dealer with a few regular customers well out of area and manufacturer knows but doesn't do anything as simply put the customer will buy another make if he can't use dealer of choice.
and that is how it should be .... if the local stealer is a bunch of bankers you should be able to go and buy from one you trust

The price I was offered as a trade in was a kick in the bollocks as far as I’m concerned.ive had 4 brand new machines in last maybe 15 years so maybe they think I’d just say yes and have another.im not concerned what I use but I have to like it if that makes sense.kubota is my second choice but if dealer don’t reply that does not help.as I mentioned I’ve got yanmar, jcb, kobelco and Hyundai within 15 miles as well as volvo.

I’ll just add I don’t think any dealer gives a monkeys after the initial sale.im mainly a farmer and could tell a lot of tales but it really pisses me of having to chase people because they don’t care.i asked for a demo of a £120k tractor 2 years ago last October.rep said he would get one out in a couple of days.i never heard another word.been offered demo 1.5 and 2.5 ton machines to try aswell but never hear another thing.ive said befor and I’ll say again but most of em want a kick up the arse.

Thing is with trades is some dealers get it and some don’t. It is tough if you have a dealer who isn’t overally fussed but ultimately nits their business

What did they offer

I’m not going to mention that but a massive amount less than I anticipated .seeing what this size of machine is making they woukd have made a good profit reselling it if I’d got what I wanted.there are very few second hand machines about.if I keep it I won’t be concerned.

if anyone is going to give you a good price, it'll be Ross, Nick and he only buys decent, tidy gear, enabling him to command premium resale prices ... sounds like you have just the sort of machine he likes to buy ;)

When i was looking for a new volvo i wanted brand new resulting in me only able to deal with the one volvo dealer who obviously knew i had no other options so it was a take it or leave it sale.🖕
Volvo work on area zones so if i lived mile in other direction i could had a brand new machine from dealer that was wanting a sale. Absolute bollocks of a set up volvo has for mini digger sales!

Just bought a ex demo with 5hrs out with area from someone that wanted a sale.

Sadly without trying to annoy Nick , it’s to dear for us. We would be high ish teens.
Every dealer is different. We see used dealers happy to work for a round amount rather than percentage , I.e lay out 17k for £500 ... but they have millions to play with and 5 x 500 is enough as they never needed the money. Generally these dealers will only ever pay that auctions but then there are seller fees too. I mean you you lay out £17k in a hope to make £500 before overhead ?
We need more than that sadly otherwise it’s not worth the risk and outlay .

it was less than list and then our rebate on top so yes a decent saving. We spend a fair bit a year through them mind.

Im having a 060 priced want me to get you a price on an 18z at same time ?
I’d be interested in an 060 price too if possible - the hi-spec one (twin aux), wide steel tracks and ideally piped for Quickhitch but no hitch/buckets required. Please!

On the flip side of the coin when your local dealer is 2k more than the best price (thread that led to members lounge) or even 1k more than what someone else bought one shortly after and then low balling a 9k trade in which would mean a 6k to stump up which is near enough half the cost of a new machine.
I'd rather suck it up somehow get the machine on a trailer and drive 2-3 hours to the dealer or to spot where a fitter is already on site
