The steel is surprisingly thin and there are also various stiffeners and wear strips. If you want details of these let me know.How thick is the steel I was thinking about 4 or 5mm
I can measure the thickness In an hour or so but would guess 4mm.
Also if you want to make the quick attachment work without any slack the measurements for that need to be quite accurate.
I appreciate you have the back plate already which you can measure but if you want to save the time Google Bobcat Bobtach and you will find drawings with the dimensions on.
One other thought is you said the engine was tuning over slowly on the starter. This can be caused by the auxiliary hydraulics being activated. This is done by moving the right hand leaver sideways. I can’t remember which position is which as mine is disconnected but if the leaver is pushed to the wrong side it will give the exact symptoms your machine has.
