How thick is the steel I was thinking about 4 or 5mm

The steel is surprisingly thin and there are also various stiffeners and wear strips. If you want details of these let me know.

I can measure the thickness In an hour or so but would guess 4mm.

Also if you want to make the quick attachment work without any slack the measurements for that need to be quite accurate.

I appreciate you have the back plate already which you can measure but if you want to save the time Google Bobcat Bobtach and you will find drawings with the dimensions on.

One other thought is you said the engine was tuning over slowly on the starter. This can be caused by the auxiliary hydraulics being activated. This is done by moving the right hand leaver sideways. I can’t remember which position is which as mine is disconnected but if the leaver is pushed to the wrong side it will give the exact symptoms your machine has.

Please note that this bucket has had a hard life and been bodged up using what looks to have been anything that came to hand so the details may not be as the original.

Edit - I have just noticed an error in the drawing. The angle at the back is not 90deg as I have shown, it is more like 70deg.

When the tipping ram is pulled right in the back plate is sloping with the top away from the machine by about 20deg. If you build the bucket with the back plate at 90deg to the base you will never be able to roll it back far enough to stop stuff falling out.

Finally got a starter that fits sadly the 29 quid one didn't but I called up a company called rotating electrics they were great identified the starter by photos and ordered 4.30 yesterday arrived at 11 this morning and it's a runner but the interlocks don't release so I need to work that one out I'm thinking they need power to release

I can get it to move by pressing the interloc traction override but I can't get the arms to move any ideas

Worked it out I can bypass it but I can't get it to work as it should I think I will have to do a partial rewire

Steel for the bucket folded and ready to weld 255 plus vat in 5mm that's just the basic bucket then I need to put the clip system on not too bad I tought

Yes, I did mention the BICS was likely going to be a problem. I suspect it was the proximity detector on the safety bar at fault on mine but I never figured out how to test it

I replaced the BICS on my machine with a couple relays. When you push the green button one relay powers the pull off coil on the lock solenoid and also powers the coil on a latching relay which powers the hold coil on the lock solenoid. Switching one the brake turns the latching relay off and locks everything. A couple of Micor switches on the seat and safety bar would complete the system.

Running and working again however I now remember why I usually get hydraulic hoses from flowfit 127quid for a 52inch long 5/8 hose nearly fell over

does that LPG tank in the background have a dispensing pump and meter on it with a hose? ... and if so how the hell did you get that installed ... what's yer gas costing you ATM?

My own installation bought the tank on eBay and got it tested currently with flogas 29ppl +16ppl duty + 20% vat ATM

that's a very good price for the gas ... lucky to find a complete installation on Ebay ... never looked TBH .... they were a bunch of muppets to deal with round here ... promised you the earth to get you on board .. got an independent in Hereford, who are very good by all accounts

this has got a hell of a hose on it ... probably not far off new cost

Mine was 1300 + 600 for testing + a few bits and pieces new hoses ect probably 2500 all in including. Collecting it from sterling which from me is a 900 mile round trip with the trailer took me 23 hrs luckily not on a tacho
